This is presuming he does come back (and McQueen). Either both these players had recall clauses which we decided not to use even when we didn't have enough first teamers due to injury, or they didn't which meant they were not part of our first team plans this season.

I echo what's said above about the departing players.
I'd like to see McQueen given a run in the first team, assuming he comes back from his loan at Dartford. He was highly regarded at Ebbsfleet. But what we really lack is a target man in the Ross Lafayette mould. Somebody like Clifton at Maidenhead or Effiong at Dover.

As others have said I'm sorry to see Aswad and Nicky going although as mentioned previously it could be because of his salary. Dean is nearing the end of his carer too I guess.
Of course everything depends on Matt Gray's chosen formation. I often thought Josh was very good but maybe he's too similar to Jonah. I don't think you can play with both of them. Similarly Tommy and Dylan. I don't think anyone would play both of them together.
Presumably we need a Left Back, Centre Back and a big striker.

www.suttonunited.net/more-squad-news/Players transfer listed have been announced. Understand Worner leaving. Very surprised at Dobson and Ayunga being transfer listed though. Shame about Taylor and McQueen not getting a chance but understandable. The clear out has well and truly begun.

Big shame about Ross Worner. Was absolutely superb for Sutton until picking up that ACL at Torquay and a big part in the NLS title and FA Cup run. Another top guy too. Wish him all the best.

I was hoping that both Butler and Worner would be retained (to rotate in a Shilton-Clements fashion) but the manager tells us that 'unfortunately I’m not in a position to have two first choice goalkeepers.'

All sorts of thoughts are we lowering the wage bill are we changing players for the improvement of the team to many good players at one go makes me a worried supporter,I hope his confidence rubs off on us soon and my fears are blown away

Expected one of the keepers to go, and Dobson was only useful for set peices but Ayunga and Taylor are talented young players and I'm gutted to see them go. In my eyes not a great decision although perhaps it's more to do with their personalities rather than ability and maybe MG wants stronger characters, which would entirely explain why he's let Worner go over Butler, and cut aswad.
Thought McQueen did enough in his dartford loan spell to at least have Matt Gray take a look at him over the Pre season, especially with how highly rated he was, but hard to say having seen so little of him first hand.

A very predictable list of outgoings there. 2 players not part of last years plans, even in an emergency, one of the two keepers who was always going to go, one player who only seemed to shine against Leyton Orient who are not in this division anymore and a player who regardless of his set piece play, probably lost possession more than anyone in these last 3 months and really struggled at this level.
Honestly if I had to pick 4 players to put on the transfer list, I'd probably pick the same.

If he bags tarpey all will be forgiven but it does look like the extra budgetary restraints of a 'paid' manager has already bitten. IMO you don't let talented young players leave unless they really aren't good enough or you really can't afford to keep them, the formeris not true in the case of JA / JT.

Lots of presumptions already here. Is MG being paid and how much? We don't know.
Lots of love here for Jonah and Josh here. But let's be honest. They've both probably not made the progress they should have made in their time contracted with us. Seemed like Jonah's best period was when he was out on loan and Josh had 2 years and the rumour from Maidstone was he underperformed in a weak side and I would expect Simon Walton would have reported back on that. They may have potential but it seems that Sutton isn't the right fit for them.

I get your point but as I've already said Taylor probably lost all confidence being dropped and farmed out to a struggling side, and if you want to talk about not progressing, Tom bola was utterly mediocre all season except filling in at FB and I'd personally have kept either of them over him, but we all have our favourites. Anyhoo, the only opinion that matters right now is MGs and my guess is he wants strong characters. Time will tell, but I expect both those players will excel when they do find the right club

It would be a surprise to hear Matt isn’t getting paid and also if he is a bigger surprise if it is not coming out of the playing budget. Even then we (quite rightly) will not know how much.

He's not a millionaire so Gray is obviously being paid. I am surprised at some of those he's listing although he may hope for some fees. The goalie situation I understand.
We have to wait and see who's coming in. I know we have a name and a good reputation so will attract players from that point of view but not financially.
At the moment I'm not optimistic about next season. I don't see how we can attract the right players.
