Surely we don't have carte blanche to do whatever we want with the ground as we don't own it.

Everything requires planning permission whether you own the ground or not.Coleman legacy to the senior team in the Borough i believe. It would be interesting to know however if a blueprint for future development has ever been drawn up.

According to the 2017/2018 Management Committee Report, the planning application for our new community pavilion was due to be submitted in early September (i.e. 2018). The Report further stated that if everything went according to plan, the pavilion should be complete by mid-2019.
That's all I know, so an update would be welcome...

Permission was granted on 8th November 2018 and the club has three years to start the work. Before that can happen there are conditions to satisfy e.g. approval of materials and construction plans. It doesn't seem to have made it that far yet according to the Council's online planning register but work may be progressing in the background.

As long as we get a decent raised viewing area I'll be happy. Our ground is one of the poorest in the league if not the poorest when it comes to decent raised viewing areas. Unless you have perfect eyesight it's the grandstand or nothing.

Not that the grandstand is much better. Any man of average height will find it impossible to tuck his knees behind the back of the seat in front. I think the ground, specifically the facilities for spectators, is holding the whole project back. We would attract more spectators if they could watch in comfort and see the whole pitch from any viewpoint.
Realistically - even though gate receipts would improve if they were built - the capital to build better stands is lacking.

I commented on the fact that at the Orient game I had to stand on the Stand side with part of my view blocked by the dugouts.
Now here's an idea. How about REAL dugouts? ie. - dug into the ground. Or is that not allowed?
