Does anyone know why the League fixtures are always published so late? Is it to do with League AGMs?
I just wondered because the Premier League fixtures have just been published this week. It would be good to know where and when we would be playing next season at the same time.

I am led to believe it's a cascade. Premier League comes out first. Then Championship, worked out so as to avoid local fixture clashes as far as is practicable. Then same for L1, L2 etc

Been considering the various possibilities and I think there is a good chance that our Christmas/NY matches will be against Woking.
That's before factoring in the NL's logic though.

I've come to the same conclusion. I think the only nailed on ones will be Yeovil v Torquay and Hartlepool V Harrogate. Even with the NL logic, I'd say it's pretty unlikely we'll get Boreham Wood, but I think it could be any of Maidenhead, Woking or Aldershot. Two of those wouldn't be too bad at all, but I hope it isn't Maidenhead. I'd rather not give them 6 points as a festive bonus!

Boreham Wood could get Solihull!

Surely Maidenhead will get Solihull. Solihull are now the odd one out in an odd number of teams north of London, and it's probably a much easier journey for maidenhead than BW. FWIW, I also came to the conclusion that we'd get Woking too, maybe getting Aldershot as the other set of Bank Hols (August/Easter) and Woking v Eastleigh for those.
My guesses - probably half wrong as the league likes to make some surprising pairs - are as follows.
Hartlepool v Harrogate Barrow v Fylde Chorley v Halifax Wrexham v Stockport Chesterfield v Notts County Solihull v Maidenhead Boreham Wood v Barnet Ebbsfleet v Dover Dagenham v Bromley Sutton v Woking Aldershot v Eastleigh Yeovil v Torquay
Based on ease of journey rather than distance alone, although that usually ends up being the same thing.

Was thinking Maidenhead could get Solihull. Wood more likely to get Barnet.

Similar to Sal but had Chorley v Wrexham and Stockport v Halifax. D&R v Ebbsfleet and Bromley v Dover. Can't say I used a map mind you.

Thought Wrexham to Stockport was a much easier journey while the others would be much of a muchness for Chorley and Halifax. Same for Dover with Ebbsfleet although it could work the other way. There always seem to be a few surprises when the fixtures eventually turn up though.

My comment wasn't about your post. Just explaining why I thought it might be that way.

I got mighty close with my Boxing Day/NY fixtures. Only Chesterfield and Notts Co wrong. I suspect that has a lot to do with the police. Got to feel for Maidenhead getting sucked in to that.
