He can't win really. Going through with it after going out of the cup in that fashion is going to be tough on him, but cancellation (for whatever stated reason) will be interpreted as cowardice and won't win over anyone, even if there is a genuine reason. I think baboon is right. I've spotted many a keyboard warrior (not specifically on here) who come across with bravado but won't have the capacity to ask those questions in a constructive way. Or those who would rather reply to a Sutton United tweet with "pathetic". Again not constructive. I know we're angry and upset after last night and I think both the board and management are probably looking forward to Thursday in the same way as a perpetrator looks forward to a public execution but I really hope the audience as a whole can just take a breath and listen. I expect theres more than just "Matt is rubbish" or "we've been unlucky" to explain our current predicament. I don't see how anything positive comes from tomorrow night, really. A lot of people have made up their minds already, so they'll be going into it with a negative perspective and any questions (or, most likely, long rambling statements) will be with that bias in mind. I don't think I'm going to bother with it, just another evening to get annoyed about things and I could do without that! The truth of why we are where we are lies somewhere between the poles of incompetence and bad luck - to what degree will depend on everybody's own barometer. Ultimately, we haven't just been getting bad results this season since Gray took over, we've only got 35 points from 36 league games this calendar year. 8 wins in that period, so the "rot" (if you want to call it that) started a while back under previous management. That's not a defence of where we are, per se, but it provides a bit of context that perhaps it's not *just* the manager that's the/a problem right now. Just to put that statement in context. Was it a coincidence that our bad run started when Dos brought Matt in with some new ideas ?

His job was to stop the rot from last season. Not to continue it.
No change is no good.

In order to truly troubleshoot an issue you must first find the cause, not the symptoms.

At least this time we won’t have to spend 15 minutes listening to that bloke bang on about how he and his son sorted out the Leyton Orient lot haha. Much more pressing matters.

Those of us who regularly attend the pre-match lunches get a 'mimi' Meet the Manager session on every occasion. He comes in, gives us some background on the previous match, news about injuries and recovery progress, gives us the Team selection for the day and then asks if there any questions. I can assure you that most of the queries on this forum have been raised, playing one or two up front, who he's got to play at right back, problems with set pieces, finding the right 'out' ball etc, and not once has he failed to address any of them, but has always given direct and positive answers. I'm sure that whatever is thrown at him this evening will be fielded in exactly the same manner, and will be backed up, in full, by the Chairman. Have a good evening.

Come on then..fill me in with the gory details. Did the bloodthirsty mob take on Matt and the board or did the keyboard warriors turn into pussycats on the night?? Would loved to have witnessed the mouth frothing but sunnier climes won me over. Fair to say that a win or two would be welcomed but we’ll survive and thrive.

Keyboard warriors stayed behind their keyboards.
