This evening sees our first home game of the pre-season schedule against old adversaries Dulwich Hamlet. Hamlet are preparing for their second season in the National South after competing in the Isthmian Leagues for the entirety of their history.
For Sutton, tonight’s a chance to put the wrongs of Saturday at Havant right - I’ve only attended the Tonbridge game thus far and was impressed with what I saw. The news is that Tommy Wright makes his comeback from a long injury lay-off which is fantastic news.

Brilliant news about Tommy! Dulwich are playing off the back of a highly creditable 1-1 draw against Spurs' under-23's on Saturday, so I'm expecting a competitive fixture tonight. They also managed a home gate of just under three thousand. If we can get anywhere near that for this Saturday's closing friendly against Chelsea's under 23's I'll be well chuffed...

Understand two players with Hampton and Richmond already. Playing tonight at Enfield two academy players one young player of the year.

I was not sure what to expect of Dulwich Hamlet. They were quick on the ball but not quick to it, so U's dominated possession and looked the more likely scorers in a goalless first half. Kearney converted a loose ball in the area two minutes after the restart, but his second goal is worth watching if SUTV cameras were there. From the edge of the area he smashed the ball across goal and in off the keeper's right upright. The shot beat the keeper's dive for pace, the ball hitting the back of the net before the keeper hit the ground.
It was wonderful to see Tommy Wright on for the last 20 minutes, and to report that he still thinks faster than the players around him, anticipates better, and still has the elements of at least a League 1 player.
There are at least two pairs of giant shorts in the kit. JC was protecting the backs of his knees from sunburn in the first half, but surely Dundas does not need a pair of Baggies for that purpose?

I would love to see that goal again as it looked from where i was standing the ball was hit straight past the diving keeper with no deflection but of course i might need to visit specsavers! . I must say that Dylan should have had at least 4 goals goals last night but made the wrong choices on two occasions.Might be a matter of confidence but he needs to take a chance and hit the ball first time rather than taking it down.

U's fourth match against NLS opposition and a third win thanks to two second half strikes from Dylan K. The first was after the evergreen Dundo found Will R and his shot was saved but DK fired in on the turn -a fine finish. His second, while a strong effort from outside the box, seemed to go through the 'keeper.
Firsy half Dylan was close with a lobbed attempt and probably should have attempted that again but took a touch and ended up firing over. Aaron J dragged a good chance wide too.
Plenty of energy and effort from the team going forward while at the back Ben G had his best match so far as U's restricted Hamlet to very little. U's started well last night as they did at Slough and need to get that mindset to be a consistent feature.
Great to see Tommy W return after being left high and dry on 99 appearances for nigh on ten months.
The ref did ok too keeping his cards in his pocket which, wherever possible is a sensible approach to a PSF.

I haven't been to any of the pre-season friendlies yet but I'm intending to go to the Chelsea one.
However looking at the line up it looks like a team is taking shape.
