The problem with these predictions is that the NL is not as widely reported as the EFL, so “experts” make basic errors. For example, referring to the migration to H&W, The author suggests that their experience would have been invaluable to the new manager. He clearly doesn’t know that the new manager released all but Roarie Deacon. Matt obviously didn’t see them as invaluable. And having seen the new guys, I’m inclined to agree with Matt!

Being only a blogger, who obviously hasn’t done his homework (the RELEASED players JUMPED SHIP!!) I will just say what a load of tosh, I was going to write bollocks but that would have been rude!!!

With his so many “gut feelings” I think that his literary prowess belongs in the toilet. Every year someone thinks(?) they are the pundit who knows the game and the teams well enough to pontificate without giving much thought to what they write. If they want to speculate they should do it after August when the teams have played 8 games and then they might have a decent report to write.

Why even be bothered about what a blogger predicts? Especially a partisan one. We've all got our opinions but to take any seriously is folly.

Ah well it least it's not a YouTube video by someone who thinks they're more important than the subject they're talking about!

I'd have to say (as the person who wrote this) I completely agree with the poster above who said why bother taking these articles seriously? Very few people who write stuff about non-league are paid experts - we're mostly just people who enjoy writing and watching football! It is purely an opinion piece. Personally, I think Sutton will be fine this year, comfortably mid-table. I think that Matt Gray has done a good job of building a squad in his own image, after the departure of such a long-serving manager who was such a big part of every aspect of the club. Unsurprisingly, most of the feedback I've had from Sutton fans has been positive, yet anyone who I've suggested might finish lower than their fan base would like obviously thinks I'm an idiot, spacker, never watched NL in my life etc... Others (such as the guy at the top of the thread) disagree, but who cares? The only thing which is certain for anyone who does a prediction article is that they'll be wrong more than they're right!

At least this is very balanced and has justified the reasons for his ups and downs.
Like many I was very pessimistic with “losing” so many of last years squad but the new gaffer seems to have been very methodical with his pruning and then building a new squad position by position. Rather like the best gardeners. Would Dos have been so brave considering he’s taken most with him to H&W? - I don’t think so, Dos was more evolution than revolution.
Don't think we can properly judge until about 8 games in . As for the playing style we look to be a more potent attacking thread. It’s better to win one and lose one than draw 2 - I think that will be the pattern for is this year. Could I ask for a radical change in how we kick off - how about retaining possession rather than lumping it up field everytime - it has never got us anywhere? I think we’ll end up about 9th 10th but a more even season - a bit like our first - And a good Trophy run - if we can avoid away bogs to Northern NL teams .

I thought that was a fair and accurate appraisal of the League and you may not be that far off. I personally think Barnet will finish lower down and perhaps Solihull a tad higher. I'd take 11th for us but hopefully we can sneak into the playoffs! You're dead right about Eastmond btw. Absolute class.

I must say, if I was to re-write it now I'd move Solihull and Notts County up the table. Within 24 hours of pressing "publish", Solihull had signed Callum Howe, which will give them a real boost at the back, whilst Notts County got new owners, which should steady the ship somewhat. Oh well...

...predicting how teams will finish is nigh on impossible as the parameters are constantly shifting. I think you made a pretty good stab at it, all things considered. I still think Solihull Moors will struggle to replicate their exceptional form of last season, but we'll see...
