It's strange how little details like almost everyone who has ever played on it saying it is the best artificial surface they have ever played on get overlooked.

"Overlooked" is generous when you're talking about opinions fabricated from ignorance and assumptions

Am I right in thinking Dan Sweeney is suspended for the Bees tonight? He got a 3 match ban at the end of last season, which I think has spilled over into this season. Correct, at least for tonight’s game. It seems that they have a couple of not 100% fit players and are having trouble deciding whether or not to play them on our “terrible” pitch. Oh, such a dilemma when you are a biased fan 🤔 Probably best if they play as few of their decent players as possible. I mean, why take the risk? They're not paid to be a suicide squad.

I assume that we'll be spraying the whole pitch with oil before kick off, like we normally do?

Baby oil so the darlings don’t hurt/burn themselves when they fall down.

Does it actually matter what a few (and it is only a few) Barnet fans say about our pitch that they've only seen once and that game was low quality from both sides?

In the greater scheme, no it doesn't. Still, I've barely turned my mind to the new season and this old nonsense chesnut becomes one of the first things that I see. I did notice that the initial doom mongers were reasoned with by other Barnet fan. But this 'can't risk some of our players' stuff? It's more than usually absurd.

So, the pitch is really bouncy, but it's dangerous for player's knees because there's no 'give'?

Travelling down this evening I was told by Barnet fans that they were having to leave some of their best players out because they couldn't risk them on our pitch. Utter rubbish in my humble opinion

That was a shocking first half performance. Thankfully a much better second half. I will be surprised if Tom does not start on Saturday....

Yes, the first half was a combination of the dull and the perilous. But the second half was excellent. Exciting play from both teams. Very entertaining stuff and I look forward to more of it.

Tom was pivotal in our resurgence which led to our equaliser. He should have been starting. A well deserved draw and with better finishing it could have been 2-1. Great deliveries from Milsom all game. 3 goals in 2 matches for Beautyman. What a number 10 he's turned out to be!

Do Barnet fans remember when players had to run uphill on their pitch at 'Underhill'. Maybe not but anyway, it matters not one jot. Four points from the opening two games is not to be sniffed at.
I'll be at my first (league) game of the season next Saturday for Chorley who have two 0-0 draws in their locker thus far.

One of their crazy fans thought they should have been 4 up at half time despite having the one shot, the penalty! He/she was corrected though by another fan.
We weren’t great first half but perhaps that was because of the way Barnet set themselves up. They don’t score or concede many so they’re hard to break down. An enjoyable second half and boy do Milsom and Randall take some cracking corners.
I do t think there was a single offside in the game. When did that last happen Frakey?

That was a shocking first half performance. Thankfully a much better second half. I will be surprised if Tom does not start on Saturday.... Shocking is a joke of a comment. Barnet were outstanding in the first half. They sat back and had a good look at us first 15-20, figured us out and then got right on top of us with some high quality fast tempo football. They are a very, very good side and to come out of that game with a deserved point is testament to what is clearly a huge amount of work that's gone into Pre season. Anyone who thought we were poor first half doesn't understand the level of sides we are competing with now, sorry. If you expect us to turn up and batter sides like Barnet, with a league quality set up and squad then you need to temper expectations as there are plenty more equally good sides in this league. Great energy to us second half, super goal out of nothing, although it was always going to need something special to get us back into the game. Milsoms excellent corners nearly provided a shock lead but no-one could be disappointed with a point tonight as we were well outplayed first 45.
