At the end of the season we will be where we are on merit. If you are trying to get good players to join the club ,at any level, then we need to have ambition. We have to work within our budget and find ways to supplement it.We are not out of place in this league. We can go away anywhere and win as we have shown in previous seasons. These big clubs are in our division are there as they have fallen on hard times. but we are in a different position to most clubs in our division. Not being full time is the most obvious. That we cant/won't pay as much for players who may be good enough for EFL clubs but still more than hold.our own is something to be celebrated, not seen as a negative. Far more important to live within your means that aspire to unrealistic targets. So far we've had 2 successful seasons in terms of league positions, so no complaints there. Personally i think the Next division change will be down rather than up, but that could be 20 years so I'm just enjoying being in the top non league tier for now. As long as we're there the possibility of promotion to league football always exists

Quite right. Matt Gray has made it abundantly clear in pre-season interviews that his aspiration for the season is the playoffs, but survival has to be the number one priority. I'm guessing about 80% of the teams in our league are firstly looking to get enough points to not worry about relegation.

I'm guessing about 80% of the teams in our league are firstly looking to get enough points to not worry about relegation. There are 8 or more teams who will very much be expecting to challenge at the top end, flyde, wrexham, Barnet, notts co, yeovil, Chesterfield, Halifax, solihull, hartelpool fans will most certainly not want to listen to talk about survival targets. However, a few of those sides could be in for a rude awakening this season judging by the first few games. I'd say the rest probably see 50 points as their primary target
