A first midweek away of the season - against our familiar adversaries down at Eastleigh. The Silverlake’s a well-documented bogey ground for Sutton where we haven’t won since pre-Doswell times, but they’ve lost key players over the summer (McCallum, Yeates and Hare to name a few).
Eastleigh seem to be struggling to score goals in these early games (lost their last two) and given our great fighting spirit on Saturday against Chorley I’m confident we can pick up something tomorrow night - hopefully all 3 points!!

Eastleigh have only managed one goal in their first three games and that was scored by a big centre back from a corner. Sound familiar? After the first ten minutes on Saturday, let's hope our players have brushed up on defending set pieces.
My recommended pub for this trip is the Steam Town Brew Co (1 Bishopstoke Road SO50 6AD), just over the B3037 bridge near Eastleigh station. It only opened in 2017 with the in-house brewery starting up the following year. The compact interior is divided into a drinking and a dining area, the latter with furnishings from an old train compartment. Food is mainly gourmet burgers. The pub should have at least one of its own beers on handpump.

For the first time since 2008 I'm not going to Eastleigh thinking we will lose. Same applies against Maidenhead in a couple of weeks time. New regime, new rules.

Last year I got there at 17.45, and was waved into a parking space. The parking was 1/8 full at that time. I offered the attendant £5 as stated on the entrance board, but he didn't charge me.

If you don't mind a ten minute walk, try parking in the Lakeside Country Park. A lot of the home fans also park there. A bit dark after the match but you won't be the only ones walking back to your car.

Well i 'm just wondering where to park .New housing being built but can we park in the roads ? I'm hoping to be able to find a space at the Cricketers pub, which is at the end of Stoneham Lane. Was a decent pub back when I worked not far from there, not been there for at least a decade though!

Phew! Matt Gray has managed to do something that Dos never quite achieved and that's come away from Eastleigh with a point. But it was hard work.
We started with the same XI as on Saturday, but with Tommy Wright replacing Dundo on the bench. Will Randall was stretchered off before half-time, David Ajiboye taking his place on the pitch.
The two sides traded similar goals within the space of two first-half minutes, Eastleigh scoring first. Both came from free kicks on the attacking side's right and were converted at the far post, JC getting ours. And that was the scoring done.
This being Eastleigh, the ball spent a lot of time in the air, but without McCallum up front their attacks lacked a focal point. They pretty much laid siege to our goal in the last twenty minutes, winning a string of corners, but their shooting was mostly off-target. When it wasn't, Jamie B was there to thwart them.
Tommy came on for the final quarter hour. Although he wasn't able to take the ball into any dangerous areas, he'll have been glad to get that game time under his belt.
The result sees us slip to 11th. But we stay unbeaten.

Not pretty to watch and wow so many misplaced passes.Solid at the back but at the expense of being a real attacking force. We could be watching a lot of draws this season !
