Andy, what does the P stand for in your stats? Clearly it isn't games played!

In response to your question GarethL, the answer is yes. BW aren't the only club who charge £20 and the lack of concessions doesn't affect me. Good to see 129 were like minded on Saturday. You could look at in another way, that being using the colossal saving we currently enjoy when buying a sufc season ticket to help cover the cost of the more expensive away day entrance fees. Certainly not going to allow the pricing policies of other clubs to prevent me from watching my team. And that is obviously a perfectly reasonable position for you to take. I'm surprised that you're surprised that others see it a different way. Not everyone goes to every game and will pick and choose where they do visit (and I'm sure both time and money come into that). BW is a very familiar place where we have been many times, they generally lack any sort of class as a club, there is lack of atmosphere at the place and therefore (for those reasons and perhaps a few others besides) will likely be crossed off the list for a few. I'm sure if it became a big game then that would change.

Having been to every NL match since we got back in I would have to say that BW is nowhere near the worst venue we visit.
Only the last two visits have been segregated but as I find their bars the worst aspect of the ground then that's not a problem.
Atmosphere? Been watching Sutton too long to worry about that. A total crowd of 46 at Thame many years ago for example.
We don't get corralled into one area a la Barnet which is probably the closest comparison I can think off. Not sure it is much less than £20 to get in at The Hive either although I stand to be corrected on that assumption.
As for big game. Aren't they all big at this level? Or are they all just bread and butter? After all three points is what is on offer every league match.
Add in the usually easy and relatively cheap journey from Sutton on public transport and it makes for a quick day out for many.
As I said in my original post I don't have many principles and BWFC certainly don't upset the few I hold.
So yeah based on the above I am surprised

You have again adequately explained your reasons for why you have no problem going to BW. That is not in question. You would go to any Sutton game, anywhere, anytime and that's great. Is it not possible to consider or see a different perspective on it? Others could easily put a following list together (and I'm sure others could put more on the list):
- Familiarity. Out of all the sides in the last 10-20 years probably them, Bromley and Maidenhead we have visited most? Going back to Ryman/NS etc? You will probably know better. Eastleigh up there too I'd imagine. - Poor crowds. Do you prefer watching us in front of 4,500 or 400 or not care? Most would prefer a crowd! - Lack of class, e.g. Brexit statement (plain odd), hooligan element that come out for the odd game, charging for commentary, public spats with other clubs! - Not a particularly interesting place, (apparently) poor pubs!! Again maybe irrelevant to you but can you see might be part of the match day experience for others? - Ticket pricing
It may be one reason, it may be a few but it's all down to a personal decision isn't it?
There are always bigger games than others. Did you feel the same level of anticipation/excitement going to the Ebbsfleet home match which was effectively a title decider in the championship season at NS level? Or perhaps a more likely scenario these days could be one that had a play off spot riding on it, or indeed a play off clash (didn't we play them a couple of seasons in the play offs?) or even with relegation riding on it! That is what I meant re. big game, or perhaps a 2nd round FA Cup tie etc. They tend to be the ones more people go to!!

Or you're unable to comprehend why everyone wouldn't share your world view? Or maybe your word is final because you've been to every game so you deserve a medal? It's lovely (for you) that the price of attending every single game doesn't pose you a problem. Good for you.

Christ. I said I was surprised not advocating the death penalty for not going to BW. Where have I said people should go?
Brexit, no-show hooligans and lack of decent pubs. And there was me thinking it was about a humble football match.
I have no preference as to how many fans the home side get when we're on our travels. Once in the "zone" I could be the only one there tbh. Ask kbb.
As for the bigger games, unless they're FA Cup ties they tend to come towards the end of the season so not sure how saving £30 or so would make much difference in August?
As for Medwaysider you'd make a great tabloid reporter. Brilliant at taking quotes and placing them out of context. "World view" ha ha.
Oh and by the way, yeah it is lovely for me, isn't it?

Boreham Wood itself is a good ground and a good place to watch football. I can understand peoples reluctance to pay their prices especially if you are a student with no income expected to pay full adult price ! Hardly conducive to growing your support base and something their chairman should look at. Kids over 16 will stop following this club if they are expected to pay full price.

The problem is BW has never attracted fans even when they had a less draconian pricing policy (accept for FA Cup ties or play-off matches). I think Hunter has therefore decided to cut his losses and maximise on the potential of the away support rather than try and attract the locals. They did offer a £99 season ticket and the take up was apparently c400 but they obviously didn't fancy it on Saturday.

Surprised they didn't include the season ticket holders in the attendance figure.

You don't find BW distasteful, fine, but you appear to be unable to comprehend why anyone would and why it would put them off going. So, if i replaced "world view" with "opinion" would that work better for you? I recall that you were pleased Gateshead were kicked out of the league and Aldershot reinstated purely because it's easier for you to get to, which, to be honest, cements what I perceive to be your sod-you-Jack-I'm-alright mentality. Incidentally, I'm also in a fortunate position in being able to get about to football all over the place every weekend if I want to, but where we differ, judging by your closing sentence, is that Harry Enfield's "Loadsamoney" character from the 80s isn't my icon.

At £15 it is £1,815 so the pricing strategy for a club with little home suppport is important. If you are happy to travel to support your side you could argue that £1 or £2 is insignificant a particularly when spending on travel to matches further afield. Not sure what we will pay at Aldershot but at BW the facilities are good and the segregated area is very generous. Only complaint from me was the three older supporters in the stand who kept banging on on all match about the first half penalty incident.

Oh yes you did. Opinion is a tad closer to reality than "world view". Pleased? No, but stating the bleeding obvious, yes. Ask a SU official and he/she would probably give a similar response. Saved the club thousands. Are we all meant to wring our hands and sob every time a club falls foul of financial rules? It happens all the time; fact of life. Far worse happening in the world. Think I'm more likely to worry about other stuff ybh. Loadsamoney. You're having a laugh mate. Not that it is any of your business but I live on well below the national average wage but circumstances allow a percentage of my outgoings to be spent on watching U's home and away which I have been doing for over 50 years. Haven't missed a game in nearly seven years - Dorchester away when Cloughie scored in his own net for us - it's what I do. Plenty of other people who have similar viewing record over the same period too. I wouldn't expect others to be able to do that (or even want to). But it's still lovley for me.
