In the Scottish Challenge Cup Wrexham beat Ayr 6-5 on penalties after drawing 1-1 and Solihull won 4-2 on penalties after having a slogging match with Kelty Hearts which didn’t go down well with the locals. According to ‘twitters’ they were ‘agriculture’ in their playing and certainly didn’t do National League any favours to its reputation.

In a strange twist, our opponents from last season Airdrieonians and Bohemians faced each other in the 3rd round, with the Scottish side edging the Irish side 3-2.

I understand that Wrexham fielded a number of youth players in their game. They appear to be concentrating on the league!

Still only 3 defeats. We have to turn draws into wins.

Mark, you may not have seen the following article on the BBC Website yesterday, it's not only in the Scottish Challenge Cup that Wrexham are 'blooding' youngsters www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49636326

It's where he wants to blood them but not in important matches.

Dave, having now "re-read", you're probably right, but, saying that, the only way that younger players are going to get experience IS to play in important matches, Bradley Pearce certainly proved that for us last season didn't he.

Shame he's not playing for us now. I think we need him.
