Getting this one up and running a little earlier than normal given the significance of this game.
This weekend sees a welcome distraction from league action as we make our bow in this seasons FA Cup - up against us is Billericay Town from the National South. Town are now without the fortunes of the eccentric Glen Tamplin so the last few weeks has seen lots of player movement with several bigger earners moving on, they are now under the management of ex-Spurs player Jamie O’Hara. In the previous round Billericay earned a good 4-2 win over fellow National South side Bath before coming unstuck at Slough in league matters last weekend. A couple of familiar faces in the Billericay ranks - keeper Alan Julian and forward Moses Emmanuel who’ve both previously been at Sutton.
We should be absolutely raring to go with this weekends tie having had our game at Fylde called off - hopefully JC has recovered from his recent injury knock against Stockport.
I seem to remember playing Billericay in the Cup during Dos’ first season here. A 2nd qualifying round tie where we won 3-1, Sutton would eventually go on to reach the 1st Round proper for the first time in a number of years.
Up the U’s! Let’s get to the 1st Round Proper again!

"the eccentric Glen Tamplin" A rather charitable description if you don't mind me saying.

Billericay have not won in the last 5 matches (4 draws and a defeat) in the league, which due to cup commitments their last win in the league was 31st August against Hungerford. Since that time of course Tamplin and a fair number of the squad have left and Jamie O'Hara is probably one of the few managers in football with less managerial experience than Matt (having only been manager for 5 or 6 games I think). He reckons, of course, that they are the underdogs and could claim a scalp. Here's his interview, although there's nothing much in here beyond the usual footballing cliches www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/17976544.billericay-town-seeking-fa-cup-first-round-third-term-bounce-face-national-league-side-sutton-united/I've also noticed that the prize money structuring has altered a bit this season and now losers in the 4qr get just over 6k. Winners get 18k, and the opportunity to play for 36k in the first round.

With the lose of Dale Bennett who's your preferred right back for the game?

With the lose of Dale Bennett who's your preferred right back for the game? I'd like to see Crossley Lima brought back if not already cup tied.

With the lose of Dale Bennett who's your preferred right back for the game? I'd like to see Crossley Lima brought back if not already cup tied. If I'm right (it's hard to follow!) Crossley has been on loan at both Walton Casuals and Leatherhead this season, and a quick look at their FA Cup reports tell me that he's yet to play in a cup game (Although Jude Mason did play for Casuals v Ks in the cup). According to TransferMarkt (not a totally reliable source) says his loan is up next week. So if all that info is right, he could well be called back (if it's in the loan agreement) for tomorrow's game. But I think we know it's much more likely that Tom B will be playing right back.

Or Mr Eastmond.
Lema has little experience at our level and is playing a couple of levels below so it would be foolhardy to throw him in the deep end anyway.

For the record, it's Crossley Lema. I agree he's not quite ready yet, for the reasons others have provided.

He played against Dover last year & did well for us. We are playing a team a division below so i would rather see Eastmond in midfield and not at right back.
