I can certainly understand the scheme from the club’s perspective. But I can also see why it hasn’t caught the imagination. It’s difficult to keep asking the same people to dip into their pockets. I haven’t supported it because I find it hard to justify. At the end of the day I feel like donations have already been made in the past and from memory they probably had a particular one off purpose at the time. To ask supporters to front up for normal travel costs associated with the league just doesn’t seem like a viable plan longer term.
It’s a hard one and it all feeds into the debate about the level the club operates and whether we can afford this level of football. What I keep coming back to is we need to get more supporters in.

Well I guess for a start not everyone goes to every game. I think I’ve probably done 4 home games as a season ticket holder so far this season. Am sure there are others.
Cheaper season tickets can attract in some who may have gone to only a few games to pay the ‘extra’ for the full season and find value?
It is also a certain income stream and much of it upfront. For instance now we have a lot of people who have paid something per game already when we might lose attendees due to the results downturn.
Lastly building our number season ticket holders up can help tie supporters in longer term and give us repeat business.

I bought a ticket and at the time fully expected to be one of 500. If sales are disappointing then I stand a better chance of winning but I’ll be gutted if they aren’t sold out. But why are sales disappointing? Is it £100 or just the principle?? Would sales still be sluggish if tickets were £50 and called the Amber 1000?? I ask as an interested investor, no idea what ‘disappointing sales’ (as apparently referenced at the Q&A) are in terms of numbers. Too expensive or do people just not care. Or both??

As of now (next home game) season ticket holders are ,in effect, getting in for nothing.Much cleverer people than me must be making these decisions but can someone explain to this old codger how this makes financial sense please ? I don't get it. It was purely established to put your good self in a quandary with the official attendances figures.

I got an idea, you can shoot me down if you like, but what about some positive action? I read the views above about schemes like Amber500 which are great, but I think are a bit boring. How about a scheme I have seen at other clubs, where we the supporters actually sponsor or part sponsor an extra player? I think Exeter City did this with James Norwood. You would not win anything, but it would be like owning a part of a racehorse - you could watch it run Could we do something positive like that rather than just say how bad everyone else ideas are? I really want to help Matt and the club, rather than commentate on our demise.

Why not sell your house, give Sutton United the money, and live in a tent in Collingwood Rec................... Pot calling the kettle here billy. Sarcasm for puns, I know what I’d sooner have. Some people posting on here are trying to help our club and whatever ideas they may have, whether feasible or not deserve respect, which appears lacking in your department.

In reply to Oz's intative the Supporter's Club have done a Kit Sponsorship for the past few seasons and have already started one for this current season. All funds for this go to the football club. The cost is only £50.00 per player for either Home or Away kit (Cheapest in the National league by far). Your name also appears in the home match day Programme against player sponsored. Call in the Club Shop on home match days or contact John Parsons on same details as Supporter's Club Coach Travel. Will put this on supporters club news in the near future.

I understand how dropping the prices was intended to increase the fan base but the way things are currently going I can't see that many of the new season ticket holders will come back whatever the price.
