Two of the greatest goalscorers of them all........................
Younger viewers should not be alarmed by the ball being passed forward most of the time. This was before the tactic of passing the ball around 30/40 times before getting to the halfway line.
Also,if you see someone with a Number 7 or 11 shirt on they were known as wingers and most teams had two.The idea was to attack down the flanks either side and cross the ball in for goalscoring opportunities.

I remember a conversation years ago about how to make SUFC more appealing to female fans, where my opinion was completely shot down by you and other male fans.) Refresh my memory, because 2 things I really want to see in football is more female friendly grounds, and better disabled facilities, that is not to relate the 2 just that they are both neglected areas especially in lower league football.

Oh that particular occasion was about how the club was promoting one of its "ladies get in for free" events. Which are not a bad idea in themselves but the way it was promoted was not going to appeal to many women! Nobody listened anyway - I didn't see a single woman at that game who I didn't recognise so it clearly didn't work! Not saying it definitely would have done otherwise but I remember thinking how ironic it was that men were trying to improve things for women fans by deciding for us what we wanted and not actually listening to what we said, considering what kept a lot of women away was that we didn't feel entirely welcome in this "men's world"

If memory serves Steve Coppell made his debut (while still a student) as a substitute for the very popular Willie Morgan against Cardiff towards the end of the "second division season."He held his place for the rest of that campaign.Hill signed early the following season. They were great times.Unlucky to lose to Southampton in the 1976 Cup Final and lucky winners against Liverpool (denying them a treble) the following year.

I wonder if your sad face is because it was a shame people used to be restricted to specific interests because of their gender, meaning those who might have made brilliant male netball players or female footballers (and hugely enjoyed it) sadly had their talents wasted...or because you think it's a bad thing that's no longer the case!
Well, you can be as old fashioned as you like as long as you don't try to stop other people doing what they enjoy/are good at for absolutely no good reason like people used to do "in your day," Billy!

What, if anything, is complicated about a woman playing football or rugby?
Complicated, how?
I was also friends with a woman rugby player, of my generation, in 1979. She was pretty good at it, as I recall.
Forty years is quite a long time ago by anyone's yardstick. Nearly half an average life span.

Surely having gender based sports is more complicated than just having sports? I don’t quite understand netball, despite the fact that my wife used to play. Nowadays, why don’t they just play basketball?
When I was growing up, I just dreamt of meeting a lady, I didn’t take into account what sport they played. I think it comes from going to an all-boys school.

One of my first girlfriends was a very good tennis player.Sadly,we had to part. The trouble was that love meant nothing to her.

Billy, is 'not answering' a question that is, quite clearly, put to you something that you only do online, or do you also do it in real life?
