Don Stoker lived in Myrtle Road which runs parallel and backs on to Warwick Road. He was my neighbour for a few years.

Thought it was John. He lived near that old pub that was there (New Inn?).
No idea then. Rather a large subset of players, deceased legend.

Were he alive today he would be eligible to play International football for three European countries (4 for those of you who count Tyneside as a separate country)

I've also had to amend my 'International Football' clue as I've just realised that Margaret's father was born in Ireland.

Ok, I've just waded through the complete list of Blue Plaques in the London Borough of Sutton and he's not on it. That must of taken ages to go through all 1 of them! Yes. Must of!

He is mocking your grammar My grandmother, Margaret, was born and raised in Newcastle and lived in Ireland for a while (my aunt was born there). But I don't think she had any secret sons so I'm going to assume no relation.

Quite a few posters have mentioned him in the last few years, along with his teammate, Kudov.

Penultimate clue: He was well known in the late 40's for occasionally wearing a very expensive gold chain...
