Am I right in saying there still have to be ground changes with increased seating capacity even if relegated to the NL, or does that requirement only apply if the club stays up in L2? I think Del is right about conversations at the end of the season, and I will certainly have a bit to say. On the ground changes, I think that all still needs to happen, the parachute payments are designed to support clubs commitments rather than help buy a squad to get you back up.

I strongly believe that these are conversations to be had for the end of the season and not whilst there are 9 games to play. Whilst our situation is not looking great we could still put a winning run together. I'm sure all the supporters travelling up to Crewe tomorrow won't have given up hope. Not having a pop at the optimists, but I'm genuinely curious - what is giving you any vague hope after the last few games? We had to rely on our keeper from getting thrashed by one of the few sides we could still catch. Even if we win one or two, we realistically have to win six games from nine which is more than doubling our win total. The squad is full of loanees who don't have a vested interest in the club, and more than half the squad will be wondering where they're playing next season, knowing it won't be with us. Morison doesn't yet know his best side or best formation and has run out of time to find it this season. With all that, I'd rate our chance of staying up about 5%, dropping to pretty much 0% if we don't beat FG and at Crewe. 5% is not hope, it is desperation.

Since Morrison took over we have only been beaten by the odd goal. There is a team there that can win games.I saw it at Nottingham.

Issue is that it's a team that's averaged 0.73 ppg over the season and 0.75 since Morison took over. We continue with hope (some more than others) but if there is a team there that can win games at the rate required to stay up, they've got a funny way of showing it!
No better time and place to start than tonight at Gresty Road. With Colchester's match postponed, the opportunity is there to gain ground and put the pressure on their congested run-in. Shame it's away against an automatic promotion hopeful.

Yes never give up but as a fan I don’t hold out any hope. When I’m there I’ll be willing them on.
But sadly there is more chance of us getting no further points than there is of avoiding relegation. And I truly hope I end up with much egg on face.

Funny things can happen. Back in season 1984/85, Coventry looked doomed to relegation from the old First Division. Norwich had finished their league programme and nothing less than winning their final three matches would be good enough for Coventry. Amazingly, they did it, with the last game being a 4-1 thrashing of the new champions Everton. Coventry had edged past Norwich by one point to send them down instead.

The problem is that we have failed to beat any of the teams around us, so very unlikely to happen and the attitude of some of players Saturday did not help.⚽️⚽️

Saturday sees us host fellow strugglers Grimsby in what’s possibly our last chance saloon. Another of these so-called must-win games which haven’t managed to see out yet (reference to the Doncaster and Colchester games). Grimsby won last week in a crunch match against Forest Green and then went on to pick up a useful point away at AFC Dons. We’ve never beaten Grimsby but then again we’d never beaten Notts County/Walsall or Bradford before this season.. We haven’t won in the league at GGL since late October, so if we can get over the line on Saturday would surely give us a big lift as we head into the last 6 weeks or so of the season. Player selection-wise - was Goodliffe taken off as precaution last Saturday or did he appear injured?
