During this period of little or no news, I thought some of you out there might be interested to know that new dugouts are in the course of construction at GGL. They are forward of the existing dugouts being located on the grass area between the running track and pitch, and are equidistant from the centre line.
We live in hope that construction will be completed in time for the Palace match on 14th July.

Great news! Now all those with OCD will be able to come and watch Sutton games in comfort.

I'm in the area on saturday afternoon if no one gets down there before me. If not, I'll take a couple of snaps & pop 'em up on here....

John James and I were down there on Wednesday painting Rose's and we spotted them. As of then just blockwork up. Unfortunately because of the required location and the off centre main stand it means that if the players come straight out of the tunnel they will run into a brick wall, so we will have to amend the runway to guide them off to the left or even better make a proper concrete path with an artificial grass covering. Oooops just thought we can't concrete it because of the access for the groundstaff etc. And before anyone says it, I know we all want our players to run through brick walls for the team but not literally.

Any comment on the pitch, any special work being carried out, or is it just routine summer maintence this year.?

Usual maintenance basically. As always, it will stay in reasonable condition until it gets played on when it's sodden.

Sorry but if they are closer to the pitch will they obscure the view from the stand enclosure? Or am I just reading this description wrongly?

Progress so far. Taken yesterday while taking a break from cleaning bird cack and mud off seats (the only time I've ever wished we had some tinpot dump of a stand like the bobbins!) The bin is for ice baths and the management team's beer ;D ;D
