Come to think of it Saturday afternoons are just as bad.Why do you need a meal at 3.45 ? Most of the people i see stuffing their faces look like they won't waste away if they miss a meal or two.

Agreed Billy, but it's not any of my business if they buy food. Hopefully they'll add something to the pot. Also agree with Taz re. the evening game. If you go straight from work a quick bite at the ground is surely not out of the question. In fact most nights I don't eat until after 8!!
Anyway I still feel £10 for a pre season friendly is too steep. Should be half price in my opinion and you'd prob get more on the gate and in food/drink sales to make up at least some of the difference, plus a little bit of goodwill from supporters. Remember usually with these games only a little over half the game is relevant before the avalanche of substitutes.

I actually agree pre-seaon friendlies should be at a reduced admission unless it is top opposition like Southampton.
Even Palace should have been reduced.

The thing about season tickets is that if you buy one, and go to every league game, you are still saving 50 quid a year. Throw in a couple of friendlies that goes up to 70 quid, and of course you get to see reserve and youth games too. The only downside is obviously having that cash up front.
As for Staines, again people are entitled to miss if if they feel they should, but they are a division higher than us, and it will be a very good test of our player, I would say our first realisitic test, so although the Saints and the Palace games were good, this is to me our first indication of not just us being able to compete at our level, but also the level above - the same goes for the Havant game. So actually I would say its probably our most important friendly so far in terms of the real prize, i.e. the Isthmian League. So those of your intending to come to Sutton for most of this season, I'd urge you to come, because it will give you a better chance of judging our chances.
Billy, I know you are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that, but you really do have to understand sometimes that not everyone is like you. I know for evening games, I sometimes struggle to get there from work, and having a burger at 830 may well constitute my evening meal.
And talking of burgers, with the exception of Horsham last season, I can't think of any other ground we play in our league where we have to wait such a long time for food - i'm talking about the main burger bar, rather than Roses. I know resources are stretched etc, but 20 minutes (and thats not an exaggeration, thats happened to me a few times) is not great, especially in that small enclosed area. Don't know if anything can be done to improve that, but I do feel it needs to be said.

Hampton was bad, apparently they always take over 20 minutes too.

Missing a part of the match in order to queue up for food baffles me even more.

Was Hampton the FA Cup game when Gargan scored with a miskick that bounced 17 times ? I managed to get there and back without eating burger and chips. It was a close call but i made it.

It's a sign that the team is looking good. People have to find something else to moan about

Missing a part of the match in order to queue up for food baffles me even more. Read my last post Billy, sometimes you don't have a choice - I certainly don't choose to miss part of a match to queue up for food. For an evening game, even if I leave work at 5pm and really rush to catch my trains, I won't be at the ground until at least 6:30. This is the time I have to be at the club to do my matchday duties. I am then occupied pretty much until kick-off, by which time I will be very tired and will not have eaten for about 7 hours. So I'm prepared to miss a few minutes of the game to get some hot food inside me. Obviously that's just me, but others have similar situations - and the same goes for Saturdays, too. This is a very exciting discussion, isn't it ;D

Will there be a break in the Q & A session ? I can't go for too long without burger and chips.
