Following the departure of Justin Edinburgh, Jimmy Dack has been appointed manager of Newport County until the end of the season.

Popped down to warcg Newrort County v Cheltenham Town last night, and both teams had a Sutton connection. Jimmy Dack is, of course, manager at Newport and, more surprisingly, Craig Braham-Barrett was in the Cheltenham team. Who'd have thought that CB-B would hold down a starting place in a League 2 side, given his performances for us?

Have a Saturday off, so I'm going to Forest Green Rovers v Braintree. Will be good to see Charlie Clough play and it looks like it should be a cracking match.

Charlie's goal was one of his bullet trademark headers. The game itself was pretty average and Braintree well deserved their point. First time for me at there new ground and have a warning for supporters if we visit with Sutton. I asked for a bovril drink at there T bar and was told with total distain, "we don't sell Bovril we are a vegetarian ground!!" There food offerings are chips, chips, chips and a falafel wrap......not a pie or burger in sight. We have been warned! :-)

Ah yes, they've been doing that for a while. Disappointing to hear about all those chips though... I was told they had a creative variety of vegetarian fare on offer!

No variety I'm afraid, unless you call red or brown sauce variety. You could have your chips with curry sauce or in a bap as well though!! Not even cheesy chips on offer! Everyone seemed to be eating them though! As all bags are searched on entry too, I wonder if a packet of pork scratchings or ham sandwich would be confiscated if found! :-)

Seems odd for an owner to try and force his tastes on everyone else. Really odd. Maybe he'll have rethink now his ex is taking a bit of his fortune (not really, it will be a tiny piece of the wealth he has accumulated).

Not that odd if he considers it an ethical matter. I'm no vegetarian myself but I do find it troubling how animals are treated en route to becoming the meat we buy. If he only wishes his company to supply vegetarian food then that's his prerogative.
I do think they could be a little more creative about it though.

Do you mean someone kills them?

What? Don't you know what happens before they die or how it happens? I don't think this is an appropriate place to discuss it but I'm sure you know how to use Google It is a matter of personal choice really but I think it's a bit more than just taste and I can see why someone who owns a business or organisation might want to extend those values to its consumers, even if I might not do so myself. I hope their players get enough protein though

The way Charlie played yesterday I'm sure he's getting his diet right, he was strong at the back and ready to attack the oppo goal at corners or free kicks. Mind you I think he's growing his hair, he wasn't as clean shaven on top as he used to be! I've just been assured by another visitor to the New Lawn that they do serve tasty chilli veggie burgers. I didn't see any but maybe they'd sold out by the time I asked for a Bovril!!! ?
