Well. We were ordinary 1st half, 2nd was better got on top before ridiculous decision for sending off. Rest of game was rubbish from then on. They weren't all that so confident we'll be in the running this year.

Scrivs made a great save towards the end and was excellent throughout.

If the red card was that ridiculous, it would be worth the club appealing bearing in mind we have video footage (I'm assuming the video guy made the trip).

What a difference a day makes yesterday I was making plans to travel to Lowestoft and a day later I was at the end of a 24 hour vigil at my little boys bedside at QMary's. Whilst no sleep in 2 days has probably done my brains in, I am well happy with a point. Well done to all those who did the 300 mile round trip and particularly Sarah for that phenomenal bike ride the thought of which makes require a steroid injection. Well done to the team for a holding on to 0-0 despite being down to 10 men, Dundas sent off??? A really big well done to my little boy for being so brave with needles and all sorts going in to him, now back at home after a very quiet drive past a certain little football team at chucking out time located just down the road from St Helier? So although OS did not get of the Borough he is a happy bunny tonight

os, All the very best to you and your family from a K's fan but a fellow parent. I know from personal experience that nothing is worse than when you have a little one in hospital. PS: we got a 0-0 away draw today too - at St Albans in FAC3Q. Replay at KM Monday - wish us luck (...if only because you can always hope a decent Cup run might make us lose our focus on the league ) Cheers, Simon

Cheers Ohhahh and Simon, he is tired so will sleep well tonight as will I and Mrs I I know a guy at St Albans so will get the low down from their perspective later. I expected K's to sit back soak up pressure and go for it on the break, when I heard it was 0-0 with 10 to go you can guess what I thought woould happen next

I'm with Simon there OS, hope all is now well. I have spent far too many hours in QM, football seems so trivial at times.

Well. We were ordinary 1st half, 2nd was better got on top before ridiculous decision for sending off. A tackle like that away from home in front of a large and hostile crowd is 99% certain to be red carded. After a so-so first half where Scriv's made one wonder save, we started the 2nd like we did on Monday and had a couple of good chances to score. Then Dundo walked and we replaced Elvis with McKimm to keep the mid-field numbers up, than replaced Jolly with Goodliffe, at which point it was obvious that we were concentrating on keeping the point. Which, thanks to Scriv's 2nd (and possibly 3rd and 4th) wonder save, we did. Lowestoft were a class above K's, but relied more on power than football. When we competed physically, we were the better side.

I thought we replaced Elvis with Tommy Kavanagh ! Was a great battling performance all game, even when we reduced to 10 with 20 to go................the ref added 8 mins of injury time too, becauseof what happened at the time of the sending off !!

Really 99%. Didn't think he went over the ball and in fact thought he won it fairly. Thought it was Kavanagh not McKimm?

Great 0-0 game (not often you can say that!) Your keeper kept you in it, your No. 11 superb, and No. 6 8/10. The "large and hostile crowd" enjoyed having your good supporters at Crown Meadow :-) Looking forward to 12th Feb (if we stock enough salt to get there!) And I was pleased to be able to give a donation to your Football Development Plan to Sally as she was on the bus to get home. Lowestoft Town Supporter[/quote]

Really enjoyed my visit to Crown Meadow today, so nice to be greeted so well by your hosts, and to be able to mingle with everbody, and despite being outnumbered, not to be faced with any "hostility" at all ! Thanks Trawlerboys, good luck for the future, and look forward to seeing lots of you at GGL in February

Well a very different game than Monday - similar team but no fast attacking play like Monday. I don't think we can underestimate the fact that we are the first team this season to get a point at Lowestoft, and many many teams will struggle up there. As expected Lowestoft were looking dangerous, and certainly the best RL team i've seen this season. They've carried their momentum from last year into this, and good on them (although I heard from a couple of their lot that there is quite a bit of money behind the scenes).
From what I saw the home team were the better team in the first half and limited us to some half chances. 2nd half we came out fighting and for the first 15 mins, it looked more like we would score rather than them, then the stupid sending off of Dundas - I really hope we appeal for that, plain idiotic by the ref. The linos seemed a little flag happy too. But to be honest, we are a little fortunate to come away with a draw. They are a good side, and compared to our friends at Kingsmeadow, head and shoulders above them.
MoM by a country mile was Kevin Scriven. Its all too easy to underestimate the importance he is to the team. Today he was the difference between a draw and a defeat.
One other note - the Lowestoft fans. What a contrast to some of the downright idiots we had to deal with on Monday. I lost count on the number of fans that went past us at the end who applauded us, and I spoke to quite a few after the game. No bitterness, no stupid comments, genuine football supporters (even the one with the drum!). It was interesting to hear their hatred of both the teams on Canvey Island though.
We could have passed possibly our most difficult game of the season. Well done to those who made it happen.
