Have to agree with both os and medibot that we are lacking something in midfield right now (not sure it as as simple as just missing Dundas though).
The defence is being overworked it seems and as well as they are playing generally, they are always going to find it difficult if put under such constant pressure as in the second half today. It also seems that the long pass to Jolly and Forbes is being looked for too early and we are not playing through the middle as well as we seemed to at the beginning of the season.
However and on a positive, Kingstonian and Lowestoft away (these were also going to be two of the toughest) and a game against a very in-form Tonbridge are behind us now so hopefully, we can put start to a run together and get back to winning ways.

This was at least a better game and performance than Saturday's, but it was annoying to concede a second penalty in consecutive matches.
That's only one win in six now, although three of those games have been against other top five sides in the Ryman League. I feel we now need to win our next two in the league (both against bottom four sides) to get our RL campaign back on track.

Well the positives - Tonbridge are certainly one of the better sides i've seen this season. Well organised and quite strong. So on the face of it a 2-2 draw isn't as bad a result as we could make it.
First 10 mins was a repeat of Saturdays hoofing. We're too good for that. Why we are doing it is beyond me. As soon as we started playing football, we looked dangerous. First goal was a cracking one, and well deserved by Jolly, who along with Scriven was again my man of the match. Their equaliser however was our entire back four fluffing up at the same time. It really was a gift. Our 'winner' (and im calling it that for a reason as you will see) was another well worked affair. When we play, we play well.
2nd half again started brightly but then we sat back. I understand its difficult to sustain a performance over 90mins, but at that point, again we were relying on Scrivs to keep us in the game, which he did.
Now the penalty. Most of us at our end thought it was for handball at the time. We've since found out that it was a foul by Murray. Which to be honest was a travesty of a decision by a ref who made wrong calls all bloody night. Although it probably made the result a fair one over 90mins, its still frustrating when we had a good command of the game before sitting back.
We've now gone 4 games without a win. I've been happy to accept bad days at the office (Like Saturday), good performances (Lowestoft), freaks of nature (Kingstonian) but letting teams come back at us, however good they are, when we are in control of the game isn't the stuff champions are made from.
I expect 3 wins from out next 3 games. Croydon and Maidstone 2 of the weaker teams in the division. If we can't get 6 out of 6 from that, I'll be worried. And I also expect an efficient job done in the Trophy. Lets show our worth again please,

i thought we pressurised the oppo a lot better today, Forbes and Jols seemed to gel more so, especially for our first with Jols dummy and running on ot Forbes' header very smart.
Our distribution from the back line was a little poor at times and i've been a bit disappointed with Fola of late, we just don't seem to get him running at the oppo full backs anymore. Kennedy looked lively again when he came on, is he fully fit or trying to get his fitness back? I'd like to see him gettting more game time personally

Too many over-expectant people tonight against the in-form team in the division who've probably gained most from Croydon Athletic's demise.....the wind was horrendously against us in the second half which would go some way to explaining the way we were pegged back, but even still we could have quite easily been 3 or 4 up at half time. Fair play on the Tonbridge forum so far....their comments seem fairly reasonable (so far.... ). The penalty was apparently given because Karl Murray jumped into a Tonbridge player - not for handball as a lot of people at the GGL end seemed to think. Guess we'll have to wait until the video goes online to see what happened!! 2-2 was probably about fair to be honest in the end....just a shame that nobody is quite sure why they were allowed to equalise like that Oh, and for the record from my point of view.....support needs to get a lot louder at home. We had a chance to go top tonight. Remember that.

Oh, and for the record from my point of view.....support needs to get a lot louder at home. We had a chance to go top tonight. Remember that. I shouted my normal babble throughout the game with just a few insults thrown at the officials for good measure but did think the sutton performance on the terraces tonight was dissmal especially 1st half

You have to give Tonbridge some credit for our 2nd half performance as they changed their shape and put an extra man in mid-field. We are not great at winning back the ball in mid-field without committing a foul. Back 5 was again immense and Tom Davis had a better game than Saturday. Hope his nose isn't broken again. At 7:45 I would have taken a point and at 9:45 I was a little disappointed to lose 2 points at the end. However Tonbridge are the form team and have strengthened their side over the past few weeks from the Croydon Athleitic fall out. They are still 6 points behind and have to play most of our other rivals twice. I am happier now than I was on Saturday night. We must get behind the team more than ever now as we are told that our vocal support are our 12th man. Very subdued last night but it would have been difficult to say anything sensible that would have shut up the TA morons. Also I believe our ball boys at the CR end were pelted with objects during the 2nd half and also verbally abused. I would be ashamed to be associated with them. However the men in blazers seem very friendly so where do they get their idiots from - is there a sink Estate in the Garden of England? BTW the ref was again not up to it and where did he buy his whistle? The pound shop? ;D

We drop two points due to a ridiculous refereeing decision. At the time of the incident I was in line with the action - no appeal from TA players - no appeal from their crowd - stunned silence when the decision was given. We were very unlucky not to win . That's unlucky in the real sense, not the mad definition many supporters trot out. "ooh he's hit the crossbar -so unlucky" No, a good shot but not accurate enough. There are few incidents in a match when teams are truly unlucky - a shot going two yards wide hits a defender's foot and spins in the other direction past the keeper - that's unlucky. Most of the unlucky moments in fact come from incorrect refereeing decisions. (or those of their assistants) TA's were incredibly lucky to get a point last night and we were robbed. Now - did Sutton edge the first half ?-yes. Were TA better than us in the second half? - most definitely yes. Did we back off and let them attack us? - yes. Was the last ten minutes like waiting for the inevitable? -yes, But were we very unlucky not to hold out for one of those so called " winning even though we are not playing well moments? " most certainly yes. The result of the game was decided by an official who gave a decision which 999 out of a 1000 would not be given. Why do we not feel so cheated ? - because we didn't play well enough to win and probably a draw was a fair result. It does not alter the fact that but for that bizarre decision we would be two points clear. As well as playing better all round - along the lines of most of the first half - we do need a bit of luck with decisions and that is not happening at the moment. No doubt the wind in the second half did make a difference to our play but we must try to be more composed and comfortable when in the lead but to be honest, as I have said before, this season will go down to the last few games and we need to scrap for every point even at this stage of the season.

I see from the programme that Dos has been taking antibiotics to cure his cold. Based on last night, we have as good a chance of winning the league as antibiotics have of curing a virus!
We almost seemed scared of TA, playing a 10-0-0 formation in the 2nd half. As soon as they equalised we attacked them again and they didn't look anything special. If we truly aspire to be champions we need to attack teams at home, irrespective of whether they are the form team or whatever.

Grrr, 2 points dropped. The 1st half was everything Saturday's performance wasn't. Playing the ball on the ground, lovely little passes and 2 good goals. Very pleased Jolly scored, his workrate is exceptional and has been all season so far, he produced the best individual move of the match as well to produce the corner from which Murray's goal came from. 2nd half we saw the very worst of Saturday's performance, sitting back and hitting long balls, not good and it was only going to be a matter of time before Tonbridge equalised. 4 games without a win in the league, but alas we're still 2nd and of those 4, 3 have been draws. Forget Saturday's trophy match (although a win would be very good) Croydon Athletic away is going to be a big game.

Spot on Tony. They were nothing special. We gave them the initiative and let them back in to the game. If we aspire to be champions, and the manager certainly does, then we need to play with more confidence in our ability and at least try and put sides away. Tonbridge's biggest weakness was a poor defence and we let them get away with it yesterday.
Gareth, I don't think it's an unreasonable expectation to show some ambition to attack if you are at home and trying to win a league?
Yes the crowd was quiet but we've come a long way in the last decade. This would have been a noisy night 10/15 years ago, particularly mid week!! I remember there being a prolonged period where there was absolutely no singing at home.
We need to win the next 2 league games and go into the Kingstonian game determined to put things right . . . .

They don't like your comments on the ballboy abuse Filbert!
Also think we were forced on to the back foot rather than relinquished the initiative. I'll agree to disagree on that one.
