OK, there may be a trophy cabinet, but......
.....is there a Sutton United Museum?
Not a large dedicated building as such, just a display area or cabinet with photographs of past players, old shirts, old footballs and programmes maybe........?

Assuming this is not tongue-in-cheek , what is there in the boardroom of historical interest? Mark

Actually, that's not strictly accurate. Yes, ther are old photo's etc on the walls of the boardroom but so there are in the VP's Lounge and more recent photo's on the walls as you enter te bar under the stand.
There is also a museum of sorts sitting in my back bedroom. Presentationally it's not very asethic but content wise, it ain't too bad!

That's interesting.
I know there are some references to the history of the club and the ground on the Sutton United website, but it could be useful to create a link to a 'virtual museum' of some sort - photos of artefacts / photographs linked to stories of players and games. I am wondering if something like this is being done already. Does the club have an official historian?

We don't have the room for a museum, maybe if the ground upgrades come about, but the idea of a virtual museum is quite interesting. I shall discuss it withe the aforementioned Mr Frake. If we do ever have a real museum, can I nominate some of my fellow directors as exhibits ? :-)

I was chatting to a fan recently and he told me he had a poster of the Leeds match somewhere in his loft. Now that would be worth having! I remember cutting out a cartoon from the Daily Mirror showing a couple of burglars in a house one saying 'Don't worry about the money just grab the Sutton V Leeds tickets'. We sold 14,000 for that game and there was still a huge demand for more. I must look for that cutting....

Some interesting snippets already. If things like this could be added to a virtual museum, more should follow - items would not necessarily have to be owned by the club, just images to share and get memories stirring.
As an experienced researcher of participants in the First World War 1914-1918, I would be very keen to research Sutton United players from this period who went off to war. I shall purchase the aforementioned Centenary book to see what is included, but does anyone have any particular names?

I have the posters from both the Leeds and Hillingdon matches on my wall at home. They both accidentally fell off the gate at the Collingwood Road end and in to my pocket! I also have a Surrey Junior League Runners Up Medal 1902/03 won by my Grandmothers 1st Husband Sam Clover playing for Sutton United. In the 1898-1948 Handbook he is the guy holding the ball in the Team Photo on page 29. His WW1 medals are also among my most valued items.Sam i believe died during WW1.My gran then remarried to my grandfather. The medal was given to me by Eva Clover my Mums half sister and daughter of Sam.

There's no bed in it Filbert, just approx 4,000 programmes and a few other bits and bobs.
