Quote take from the 'averley tomorrow' thread by the venerable 89 year old sdavison. This is such brilliant news that I thought it deserved a subject of it's own.

Great news about AJ. having him back for the final few months plus a confident Jolly and the new guy, could be really useful.

So let's be positive and assume AJ hits the ground running when he returns to the 1st team. Do we move DE up to left midfield? I thought SD had a terrific game at rightback and gave us extra when coming forward so AJ & SP in the middle leaving DE where he is???

Can't see Aj playing cb with page, both dominant left footers. Ebsworth playing the way he is means we can allow Aj 3 or 4 reserve games and ease him back to full fitness.

Dropping Ebs for AJ the moment the latter is fit would be harsh in the extreme! Next to Tom Davis, DE has been the best player for us this season and I find it incredible that no one has actually mentioned just how well he's been playing. Fewer people in the side are as calm on the ball as he.

I don't think there is any chance of that - A good dilemma for Dos though...

Its great that AJ is on his way back, we hardly conceded a goal with him alongside Page. My problem is Ebsworth has probably just put in 2 of his best performances in a U's shirt and was my MOTM on Tuesday.
Can we not find a way to play all 5 with maybe one playing in front of the back 4???

We'll need them all. It's a long season. Don't see any of them playing in front on the back 4. Karl Murray is doing a good job of that just now and the midfield has looked far better balanced in the last couple of games.
Really like the look of Kavanagh - great energy and he wants to play. He will rush things occasionally and make mistakes because he is inexperienced, but he gives it a real go. Things have improved having both him and Davis with the ability to get on the ball in the midfield. Though Davis is not a natural wide man he can tuck in and help make it 3 in the middle when required. Having Fola and Brad in the same side at times this season did tend to leave our middle isolated a little. Fola still not firing (may need the harder grounds . . .)

I'd like to see Ebsworth given a shot at left mid if AJ goes back in at left back. He always looks good when he breaks forward and he delivers a top notch cross.
Maybe he wouldn't want to play there but he's got a lot of the attributes needed.

I'd like to see Ebbs at LM as well. His delivery is excellent and his set pieces yesterday, especially corners, was about the first time this season we've really constantly pressured someone in those situations.
As for Tom Kavanagh, I like him a lot as a player. Ok, still shows the odd bit of inexperience now & then, but he's got bundles of energy, always got his head up and makes those cracking little runs into the box.

Think I recall when we signed our short lived left back cover that Dos said he thought Ebsworth would give him an option at LM.
