Sorry if this has been mentioned or linked already on here, Dos was on the Non League Show last night and you can listen again here: www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/nonleague (go to play recent episodes on the right hand side). I'm about to listen now so I don't yet know the minutes and seconds, sorry!

It was quite a long interview actually. Good publicity for the club and mentions of Sarah's bike ride and the FDP. Don't want to give it all away but it was interesting to hear what Dos said when asked if we could achieve back to back promotions and reach the conference

I was surprised to hear that Dos does not take a salary for his services (he has an income from elsewhere).
Is this unique at our level of non-league football?

It was good to hear Dos and for him to get the recognition on the show he richly deserves. If you're only going to listen to him when you think he's gone he hasn't and is asked a further question which we knew about but was interesting anyway.
It's also been well documented for a while that Dos doesn't take a salary.
It looks like Guernsey will be allowed into the Combined Counties League. Let's hope we meet them in a few years time!

It was interesting to hear what he said about if we ever managed to reach the Conference again. It will be interesting to see what sort of budget he will recieve for the next year and whether we can challenge for promotion again.

Was a nice interview. Good 10 mins worth. As for Guernsey, perhaps a certain manager of ours could use his contacts down on the coast to arrange a 'prestiege' opening friendly for the islanders at their place to welcome them to the Pyramid. Failing that. Newport IoW would do. Ahem.

LOL!
It was nice of Dos to recognise the players from the previous seasons and the part they played in our success. Where's AJ2 now?

Unless he's left in the past week or two, he's at the Bobbins who we will not merge with...

Excellent interview. Whilst I knew that he wasn't taking a wage, I didn't realise he was footing the bill for Alan - You've got to really appreciate your assistant to do that! We are a very fortunate club.

It was good to hear Dos talking so openly (and at some length) on the radio. Those of us who've been to the meet-the-manager evenings won't have been surprised at what he said, but this interview feature will obviously have reached a wider audience and should have enhanced his reputation.
One aspect of promotion that hadn't occurred to me is that several of our away fixtures next season will be quite close to Dos's home in Hampshire, so he can cut down on the number of long-distance trips.
I would take issue with him slightly over the club being in decline when he took over. Yes, we'd just endured a terrible season that ended in relegation, but I don't think that was necessarily part of a long-term downward trend.
And I think many of us who've seen Sutton play in what is now the BSB Premier would like to see the club have another spell at that level - even a short-lived one!

You've got to really appreciate your assistant to do that! I don't think anyone can under-estimate the role Alan plays and whatever arrangement the club has, I'm glad he's here. Especially after he was ill back at the end of Dos' first season. He is a true gent, great to talk to, and very knowledgeable about the game.
