Nice Ohhahh - have to admit, every year when the Clubman award for services to the club comes up at the annual awards' night, I immediately think of at least half-a-dozen genuine candidates. Does make you proud to be at such a great club. Ah but this year, I can think of one candidate above all of the other great ones (And no, I have no idea who's in the running)

We have been in decline since our first exit from the conference under Blunt.Yes JR eventually got us back up but made the fatal mistake of not strenghtening the team and relying on the players who got us there. Its great to win the Ryman League Championship but i won't get too excited at going back to a league where i expect us to challenge. We have to keep the momentum going and i do expect a few new faces in next seasons starting eleven but won't start the speculation yet. Congratulations and thanks to Dos for getting us up and i'm sure he's the right guy to move us forward. I wonder if Chukki's available?

Whilst Bruce is to be applauded for giving Dos the budget to do what he has done, I'm not sure how much 'selling' he had to do. I remember Paul's explaination at his first 'talk-in'. When he quit as manager of Eastleigh he did so to concentrate on the 'off field' aspects of running the football club as he was spending lots of time running raffles and painting their ground. It didn't take him long to realise that what he really wanted to do was manage a football team. After making this decision he looked around at the managerless clubs at the time a picked one where he knew that the everyday stuff was taken care of by a dedicated team of supporters both at board and 'terrace' level - Our club was probably at the top of a short list of one. So boys and girls of the forum, many of YOU are the reason that Paul came here. Although I can't count myself as one of those helpers I'm proud to stand with you. Of course the supporters were a major factor in Dos coming to our club, those hard core who followed the side home and away in that last BSS season and kept the faith. Are just one of the reasons we are back where we belong, the board, the management, the players are all major parts of that as well. Take anyone one of them away and we wouldn't be champions today, that's why we have such a great club. I have not forgotten getting the Mickey taken at Lewes as we left the Dripping Pan after being thumped with money they didn't have! And last season that playoff 2nd half Bobby Traynor show shattered our entire season's hopes in a blink of an eyelid, head in hands, cold concrete step and all that, as the realisation of having to do it all again goes throughs your head !!! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger they say, and its true
