I was at that game ( although I thought it was against North Shields lol ) , anyway, their winner was, I thought, scored by Brian Joicey who went on to play for Coventry City !

Beat me to it Rambo, game turned with their sub - Tommy Orrick - whilst our only substitute stayed on the bench. Someone called Gane!

Well, as this thread's now being used for a bit of reminiscing, I'll chip in. I was also at Wembley that day and it was the very first match I ever saw. Being knee-high to a grasshopper I don't remember much of it, but I recall being rather gobsmacked by the size of the crowd (officially recorded at 47,500, which I believe is the most any Sutton team has ever played in front of).

I would think the Sutton v Wimbledon final wold have a larger attendance.

Oh you would, would you smartypants? I have seen it listed as 45,000. Obviously not strictly accurate, but not 47,500.

That's pretty awesome. Except Nonsuch Park. Nonsuch Park isn't Sutton, it's Epsom & Ewell. Cheam Park next door is, though. And that's nice enough.

Otterbourne's Tommy Wright currently on trial with Sutton United. Interesting one Stewart - good find. From a quick look Otterbourne is in Winchester so obviously quite local to Dos. Wonder what the thoughts are behind this - another player for the development side next season?

A cursory look on the Otterbourne FC website shows they are sponsored by Drew Smith, whose Group Managing Director is club chairman Stuart Munro, and have a Sam Doswell on their playing staff.
