Not sure what the time was, but it wasn't just the floodlights as some of the house lights in Thames Road went out too.

I remember our abandoned game against Boreham Wood on New Years Day - I think Downer got a card which lead to a suspension, and it was the only fact of that game to count! grrrr

It was a case of deja vu for a lot of people tonight, not just me, as 12 years ago in 2002 I was at Park Lane, Canvey watching Canvey Island( then in contention for the Ryman Premier Title ) take on Gravesend & Northfleet for what was effectively a title deciding match............Gravesend took a 2-0 lead, and then the lights went out !! In that Gravesend team that was our very own Macca !! As you can guess, a lot of Ebbsfleet supporters just couldn't believe that lightning "can" strike twice !

Welcome to Wealdstone next season. Although some of their fans can be described as a little "tasty" (and I'm not just talking about the raider here!) at least they are a well established, well supported club with a rich history, rather than a team that bought their way up, and in terms of that generic "Size of club" measure that we use, they are probably the biggest alongside Maidstone, rather than the usual also rans in the Ryman and those little clubs who suddenly get a cash injection/a small window of success. The play offs in the Ryman look like any 4 from Hornchurch/Bognor/Dulwich/Ks/Maidstone/Lowestoft. Bognor have to play Maidstone and K are playing Dulwich, although with the Ks hosting the Bobbins, thats a certain 3 points for them . Maidstone's choking in recent weeks is even more dramatic than Bromley - from being a comfortable top of the league, they are now in real danger of not making the play offs, sitting just outside the top 5 and relying on other results going their way.

thinking of going to Eastleigh on Friday in my colours to cheer on Basingstoke I would have been tempted too, but apart from the fact that it's a piss awful place to watch football, I couldn't bear to watch another club buy the league trophy with a lot of smug part time fans saying how wonderful their team is. At least we know that a minimum of 3 of the 4 teams likely to be in the play offs are pretty much there on merit, not by splashing out stupid amounts of cash on players which does nothing except harm the other teams in the division living within their natural means. The only reason I don't want Eastleigh to totally go bust is that would have undermined the amazing work Dos did there 10 years ago. Apart from that, I'll be quite happy to see another boom or bust club plummet down the pyramid.

thinking of going to Eastleigh on Friday in my colours to cheer on Basingstoke Basingstoke are a poor side. Would you enjoy watching Eastleigh winning the game convincingly? Stay at home and save your money for the crowdfunder project

The Ebbsfleet forum has gone ballistic over the floodlight failure. God knows what they would have made of Forest Green Rovers back in 1999? They only had to pop over The Thames for christ sake.

Tonights result H&W 1 BWOOD 1 means if Ebbsfleet fail to win on Friday at home to Eastbourne a U's win at Stortford on Saturday will guarantee a 2nd or 3rd place finish the clubs highest ever conference south final table position.

Well that's another team we won't see in the CS next season. Eastleigh confirmed champions with a 2-1 home win against Basingstoke. I won't say congratulations to yet again another side who have bought the title. Still I'm confident that we'll be playing them in the league next season! Ebbsfleet also scored a win and with Havant playing later tonight at Weston, the play off sides could be pretty much done and dusted before we are Dover kick a ball tomorrow.
Dartfords 1-0 defeat at Braintree and Aldershot winning means that they are a lot of trouble especially if Hereford get a result at already relegated Tamworth tonight. They will be 4 points from safety with only 2 games to play.
In an aside, even if Maidenhead get relegated, there will be Conference South football at York Road next season. Hayes and Yeading are ending their groundshare with woking and will be groundsharing at Maidenhead next year.

Well I will congratulate Eastleigh. They have proven to be the best side over the year. Championships at any level have to be earnt. Whilst I can't find anything to endear about their club and the football I saw at GGL was the worst I have seen from a championship side they have managed to be strong and churn out the results. Presumably they were better in most the other games! It will be interesting how they go next year and whether they invest further. I think they will have to in order to avoid a relegation scrap.

I'm certainly not begrudging Eastleigh their title. If a person or persons wants to pump a load of their dosh into an orgnisation, that is surely up to them.
What I will say is, having seen them three times, I would say they were more solidly efficient than spectacular (certainly not in the mold of Woking or even Dartford) but are a big side that knows how to win football matches. The table never lies, you finish where you deserve and they finished first.

One fact that does come to mind is that they looked very ordinary against us yet still managed to take 4pts off us and concede just once through a dodgy penalty. Unspectacular yet a very efficient side.
