This will be Sutton's first visit to Stortford since the fag-end of our relegation season in 2008. We don't have a great record there, so let's hope we can improve that tomorrow. But how much of a defence will we have?

Stortford have won just one game in their last ten games, just one goal in their last three games. However they have have drawn at home with both Dover and Eastleigh this month. This is a tough one to predict

Terrific win that! Puts us 3 clear of Bromley with two to play now!

Even possession wise first half with the U's having the clearer chances. Sutton were much better after the break with two late goals winning the game.

Yes think that has pretty much sown up 3rd short of something silly so home semi play off leg will be 3/5. 3 more pts Monday would almost certainly be enough for 2nd barring unlikely swing in goal difference. Great effort and what a run we have been on. Just need to keep going for (hopefully) 5 more games. Would be nice if we can get into position to rest those in need of one next Sat.

Great fighting performance again. Game pretty flat up until they got a pen and then we jacked it up and again it was the talisman Dundo who piled home the winner. I just hope Louis John is Ok and that the knock Si Downer looked to be running off was nothing serious. One win away from the important second place as near as dammit regardless of what Bromley do. Credit to all the players that despite the injury crisis they keep pulling fighting results like this one out of the hat.

You'd have probably been hard pushed to find a worse half of football than today's first 45mins. A couple of half chances for the u's, even less for Stortford. 2nd half started the same way but slowly began coming to life just before the penalty. Brown nearly got to it, but it was powerful enough to get through. Then 5min later a bit of magic from Taylor and McCallum shooting with his back to the goal in off the post. Then a couple of mins from time, Dundo smashes in from close range after Stortford failed to clear their lines.
So another win, and 3 points clear of Bromley. Win against Concord and we're certain to get 2nd regardless of what Bromley do. With Whitehawk winning today, the last game of the season will be meaningless if that happens. Good to see Marvin coming on in the 2nd half as well. Hopefully Louis John coming off at half time was just to save/rest him for Monday and the upcoming play offs.
And good to see our first ever win at Stortfords new ground!

A small piece of club history today with U's first win at Dunmow Road but a big 3 pts in the race for 2nd place. On a pitch that was generally true but rock hard, when U's could get the ball down and pass they looked the more likely in the first half with JT striking a clean effort on target and being thwarted by a good piece of 'keeping as he looked to round him for an empty net. But for much of the half the ball was in the air and a s a result Ben King got caught three times by a flailing arm and needed treatment before the fourth arm was finally noticed by the ref who was inept at times in the first period.
Second half and U's, having lost Louis John, hope he's ok, eventually saw Micky S at centre back and Dammy Shitta in the holding role. Their penalty was nailed on and smashed home by Prestedge, who looked the home sides best player throughout.
Before that JT, had almost lobbed the 'keeper but U's were not to be denied as Gav showed a fine piece of control and finished with a low left foot strike off the post. Sutton continued to press with Stortford fairly limited in attack.
A great little ball in by MOM, Scanners caused problems for the home side and Dundo smashed home from close range, finishing into the roof of the net.
Stortford didn't look like the side we lost to earlier in the season but this U's team has grown since NY's Day not only into a solid team with great attacking intent but also one with a hell of a lot of character. Losing a centre-back two weeks running and going a goal down only to record back to back victories, is impressive.
Great to see Marv back too.

I thought BS were a mid table side when I saw them win at our place and today just underlined that for me. Apart from banging high balls forward and looking for free kicks BS looked lightweight up front and didn't have the pace to cause our makeshift defence any real problems, penalty and one chance aside. As said the 1st half completely forgettable from both sides, but I give a lot of credit to Dos today for his tactics. You just know we have the power, quality and stamina to go up a gear if need be in the last 3rd of a match. Dundo coming on is always a statement of intent and so it proved again today, from that moment we turned the screw ever tighter until the home side cracked. Again as Ebsfleet I thought the match ended with us 'going away'.
A huge amount of credit to the lads at the back, filling in and making do out of position etc, they all did a great job and Kingy looks although he has played 1st team football all season.
Our highest ever finish in the conference south is now all but assured and 2nd place is ours to lose.
Magic Marv is back and did look class with his touches.

As against Ebbsfleet, going behind seemed to spark us into life. Stortford are not a pretty side to watch or easy to play against, and it took us a while to adapt, but as the game went on we looked increasingly assured. Our makeshift defence stood up well to Stortford's physical challenge, and in Dundo we have a proven match winner.
With Bromley only drawing and now three points behind us (with an inferior gd), we're now favourites for 2nd place. Hold on to that and a play-off semi-final against Dover or Havant awaits us.

Micky Spillane did brilliantly for our winning goal, keeping the ball alive by putting his head in where many wouldn't and stabbing it across goal for Dundo.
Must admit to being really scepticle when Dos let Rivière leave, but Spillane has been a real quality addition to our squad, providing cover at the back as well as great strength in the midfield
