....from a purely selfish point or view, I would like them to be reinstated ( subject to all the regs being met). This was one of my home games, having lost Dorchester, Eastleigh Weymouth in recent years. Snap!

To be honest I hope they fail. The new board are sounding more and more dodgy by the day

Reported that if Salisbury are reinstated they want to delay start to their season for 3 weeks - so our home game on 16th would be postponed. They won a friendly 8-1 yesterday.

In the nlp their Chief Exec states that if reinstated it would be unfair to expect them to start on the 9th. Unfair? Unfair on Ebbsfleet if they don't maybe but why should a club that allegedly has brought this situation on themselves by past decisions think it unfair to have to start a season when every other club does?
Another Farnborough and another Conference cock up. Sunday Football League's seem to operate with more credibility at times.

I can't comprehend all this. Don't know enough about it all. I struggle to believe at this level, which is nigh on professional, that clubs cannot meet league rules and continue to be members (not that this has happened this time yet). It is farcical and just wouldn't happen in either of the amateur leagues I have appeared in. Can or do the member clubs do enough to make sure the conference enforce the rules? There cannot be any legal basis to challenge this if the rules of membership haven't been met. Therefore I expect Salisbury's expulsion to still be confirmed (though look what happened in Farnborough situation last season).

Their friendly was supposed to be against Forest Green Rovers, but as this team are not yet the legal owners, the side they put out were not affiliated to an FA and both the Wiltshire FA and the Conference told FGR not to play them. So they beat a park side basically 8-1. And why should the league make concessions for them when basically they can't get their house in order?
I hope the conference see sense - Farnborough was different in the fact that they were just in debt and there was no question over their ownership - this is a right mess.

That "Official Salisbury" website is an absolute belter.
The start of the season just would not be the same these days without some episode of lunacy like this but it seems that there's some sort of contest on to ratchet up the level of madness year on year.
Wouldnt put it past the Conference Management to accomodate both Salisbury's - the Officials and the Provisionals maybe?
They seem quite happy to bend over backwards for any nutter, chancer and fraudster who looms into view.

In a summary
"Official Salisbury" (Touzar's lot) - got no ground, got a squad, got a new club badge, officially still owns the club, obviously delusional "Unofficial Salisbury" (the other lot) - got ground, not affiliated with the FA, don't own the club, got squad of trialists, Claridge as manager, still blaming everyone but themselves
Both clubs officially still in debt and still under transfer embargo and neither have much prospects.
Shambolic but as totter implies - still very funny, I think on both sides!!

You couldn't make this stuff up. It makes 'carry on' films' story lines look sensible and believable in comparison.
