Maybe a little bit of ignorance on my part but when did we last play Merstham, I certainly can't remember any matches against them in recent times..

If we get through against South Park we'll meet up with an old adversary of ours, one Haydn Bird, who was, for a time, one of our 'Management Team' for those who can remember him

The only games I'm aware of were in the 1980/81 SSC (1-1 at home and a 9-3 win away!). I have a feeling the replay had the incident with the old geezer and his stick....!

We played AT Merstham a couple years ago of course, but that was against the nomadic Epsom and Ewell...certainly I can't remember playing them. This is where you need a Frakey....

What, does he support merstham? Its a good draw for Merstham although i suspect we will be too strong for them.Sort of divided loyalties for me as my son plays for their U16's & i know most of the Management & Directors there. Now after hearing Dos's comments post Basingstoke we may struggle to get past South park.

Let’s hope we see a decent side put out tomorrow. Is anyone brave enough to predict the team?

Although I fall into the pro-SSC category, the priority has to be the Trophy game at Hemel on Saturday. So how about bringing in the SAS? (if they're both fit and available). To me, it's crying out to give Ollie the opportunity. The level of an SSC game against Ryman South opposition would be an ideal stepping stone.
As for South Park, or the Sparks as they're known (South Park....S.Park....Sparks....get it?!), they've got a striker in Chris Smith who was scoring for fun in the Combined Counties last season and he's right up there with the leading scorers in Ryman One as well. If we want to progress we'll probably need to keep him fairly quiet.

I noticed that our next SSC opponents, Merstham, surged to the top of the Ryman South last night, thumping Sittingbourne away 5-0. They've now gone 14 league games without defeat (W11 D3 L0 F42 A12). Looks like it'll be a much sterner test than South Park!

Here's some interesting news. It seems that Chipstead have been given a walkover in their SSC tie with AFC Wimbledon.
So the revised draw is as follows:
Merstham v Sutton Utd [scheduled for 13/01] Redhill v Westfield [07/01] Dorking Wanderers v Colliers Wood Utd [07/01] Molesey v Epsom & Ewell [14/01] Leatherhead v Ashford Town [14/01] Metropolitan Police v Chipstead [14/01] Tooting & Mitcham Utd v Mole Valley SCR [13/01] Corinthian Casuals v Badshot Lea [13/01]
So, apart from us, that's 2 Ryman Premier, 5 Ryman South, 1 Sussex Premier & 7 Combined Counties Premier. If we could only find a semblance of form we could win the darn thing!
