Not exactly out of the George Graham book of how a match should be played but certainly entertaining. We simply didn't turn up for the first 10mins, and were getting done for pace at the back at Staines whim, and the marking for the 1st goal was non existent. I will reserve judgement on the 2nd belatedly given Staines goal, its looked a although it was a perfectly good goal but something made every U's player and the lino raise their arms?
For the next 80mins we took control, squeezed them a little in midfield which blunted them and our 1st goal came at just the right time. I don't think Gayle knew whether to twist or stick at 2-1, and it cost them the equalizer and what was a dominant 2nd half performance leaving the 4-2 scoreline quite flattering to the Swans, it really could have been 6-7.
I have to say I am not a fan of such open football and if we go 2-0 against a side who can defend, we will more often then not be on the end of a defeat. Even at 4-2 up we were still going for goals and trying some elaborate touches which occasionally gave Staines a sniff to make it 4-3 and provide an uncomfortable last 5 mins.
I wasn't particularly struck with the ref, how that wasn't a booking outside of the box on about 10mins, I have no idea. Looked like a penalty to me in the build up to our first goal and I think Kane was simply pushed over in the box late on.
Kane deserved his MOTM, Jessy didn't score but gives the oppos all sorts of problems.
And Dundo, I reckon he should wear his pants outside his shorts, and I bet he can stop trains with one hand
