Probably last time poster as well by the way. People who don't toe the party line don't seem to be made welcome on here
I do hope you rejoin Amber Planet mwg. The best forums have a broad diversity of views. You should never be afraid to view them.

Makes me laugh. Someone posts what they consider is an alternative view on here and then expect not to be welcomed. As Stewart says, this is a public forum and anyone is allowed a view; just don't expect everybody to agree and expect some of us to say so. Unfortunately, a few of us Sutton fans are rather passionate about our club (probably too much for our own good) and will put our point of view over in rather candid tones. And if that is considered unwelcoming then perhaps the big wide world of Amber Planet is not for you.
As for the argument over weekday training, it is a bit early to start judging. It did us no harm last season and was probably a strong part of why we only lost one of our last 21 league matches falling just short of Eastleigh, whose wage bill we could only dream of. So, more evidence of good so far rather than bad.
As for signing an ex-pro defender (should that happen) Medibot's reaction is well over the top. Christ, we've not even seen the fella play yet and he's getting slagged off. I find that reaction incomprehensible.
And finally to our reserve team so well instructed by James & co. As I've said before, blooding them too early could endanger their progress (and Michael Owen is not a comparable argument, he was a one off). As Andy stated Steve Douglas looked a fine prospect, scored a brilliant goal at Dorchester but just couldn't maintain that form and eventually dropped out of senior football. We blooded a number of the youngsters from the Suburban squad during 2007/08 and look where that got us. The best case scenario is to give these guys the chance when there is nothing at stake or if on the bench when the match is comfortable. Currently, neither of those scenarios apply.
More recently, M-Williamson and Kevant Serbonij were two guys who got a go. Nor sure where M-W is now but last I saw he was in the Ryman South while Kevant (who I thought always did very well for the senior team) is back with the club with James. Hardly a ringing endorsement for chucking such guys into the deep end. Chris Sessegnon is possibly the one player who has gone on but converted from a tricky winger to a full back.
I hope the likes of Ollie Sitch, Brandon Johnson and Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick do progress into the first team in some way but is now really good for them or indeed the club? Ollie is in his first full season for the Suburban team and making excellent progress. But I will repeat, scoring goals against the second string of a step 5 club is somewhat different than coming up against a CS 6 footer.
Seems to me that we have all watched a drop in form recently and got dumped out of the cup and suddenly there is panic. Far too early for that. Mind, if we're hovering close to the bottom 3 come late February then I may start joining you.

Stunned to read in local that Will Spetch has retired. This lad fractured his ankle in his first game, played 6 games and tried to help in the play-off only to be hacked down once again that has injured his knee. He has not retired and it is an outrage that this has been stated in the paper. He is unable to train, but as demonstrated at Tonbridge has been playing some games for them and doing well. Only to take a step backwards when forced to train on the astro midweek. He has been told that if he cannot train he is not a Sutton player. Good luck Will wherever you play next and look after that knee.

Well said MarkF, you are right a few of us maybe just a little too passionate about our club, and naturally that is going to spill out on here, as that is what this forum is for.
There really isn't anything wrong with having an opinion or stating a view, whether that is about training, players not playing well, coaching etc. But there is a world of difference between that (eg the post of MWG) and sort of stuff certain people have been posting, which isn't helpful, thoughtful or logical and simply descends into abusing players lack of ability and for being on the make before they have even signed. The questioning of the management is fine, but the over the top reaction to a few games is ridiculous, and could even be damaging to the club as these are real people 'you' are talking about with feelings just like the rest of us.
A good manager knows when to 'love' a player and when to 'rant' at one, and so should a supporter! I made my earlier post simply because I thought some comments had gone too far and were potentially damaging to my club/team and I won't standby without replying to it. What we need now is a bit of togetherness and to help see our team out of its present predicament, that is our job!
I know for a fact that no one is more passionate about this club than 'Dos' and no one is working harder to put things right. The least we can do is to give him and the players he picks 100% support and help get that win on Saturday!
