I know a lot of you wouldn't care less but the club management & board held an open fans forum and below is the upshot of a upfront & frank meeting (quotes fromGetWestLondon):

This is way beyond me.Two clubs merge( Hayes & Yeading ).They have two grounds and decide to sell one,Church Lane.Excellent football ground, but decide to move to Yeading.Bit ramshackle to say the least and more noted for the filming of "Bend it like Beckham".Why did they not move in straight away & redevelop as they went along ? Why has it all taken so long & now they need an absurd amount of money to continue.
If i remember rightly, one man & his dog went to Yeading & can't see them getting many more if it is all completed.

Your post starts very negatively Stephen - not that I can blame you really - but this is the non-league community so don't assume we don't care I for one hope that some sort of resolution is found. As Sutton fans, what is there we can do to help support your cause?

Sorry for being presumptive in all this it was just a gut reaction Its just that meeting was Flipping scary. Thanks for all the positive supportive comments though. As for fans I'm not sure what else you can do outside of putting the word out on any of our fundraising efforts that our fans will do. We've got a few things going on like selling copies of Football Manager and I'm going to try and organise a Fan's Fundraiser Bike Ride from Beaconsfield Road to York Road in time for a home game before the next open forum in February when we'll have an update on how things have gone and whether we'll still be in business come the end of the season Any ideas are more than welcome.

Probably not what you want to hear but I'd save your money for a new club rising from the ashes rather than put anything into the black hole that is Hayes and Yeading. Not that I'm sure there are enough who care about the club to start something anew. Unless you know a fan with a spare half mill?!

It really would help them if they actually looked like they wanted to play the game! In our visits to them (this year was slightly better) they have showed little if any interest in playing a football match and more on what the time is and can they manage to get the ball on to a passing satelite.
Having said that I don't like to see any club go out of business, its not the fans fault.

That's the players though os, not the club or the fans.

That's the players though os, not the club or the fans. Yes and the manger, but it really doesn't help bring the punters in and raise a bit of passion for the club.

Sure. I can't comment though personally, because I have only seen them play once this season. Presumably you've seen them more to be able to make that sort of statement!

No doubt that are a little better this season, but their performance at our place last season when they dug up our pitch followed by one of the most negative displays of football I have seen at Woking. This season they were only wasting time from the 23rd minute, and to quote their manager "I was disappointed we could not hold on to the win" this was after they took the lead on 22 mins - now if that isn't negative I don't know what is??

For anyone who'd like to help **HERE'S THE FUNDRAISING PAGE** which currently stands at £150. I'll be doing a recce of the route this weekend (Sunday as Maidenhead are playing the saturday!) so that those taking part who are scared of one or two "undulations" will know what to expect at least. A big coup for this event is that Phil Babb & Tristan Lewis have both agreed to take part alongside a handful of fans on the 17 mile ride. It's gonna be fun...for me anyway!
