Thought I'd start early for our first home league game for over a month and an attempt for our first home league win since Staines on 13th Sept! (and our first league win since Farnborough on 18th Oct). This starts a run of 5 league games in 15 days for us which ends at Weston on 4th Jan.
Talking of Weston, they held Whitehawk to a 1-1 draw last night, a credible result against a side with one of the best away records in the league (only Bromley and Gosport have better).
This is the first time we've played a team twice in the league this season (it should have been Salisbury) and our first stab at doing a "double", after probably our best performance of the season at their place in early September gave us a decent 2-0 win.

Instead of predicting how many goals are going to be scored on Saturday, perhaps it would be more appropriate to predict how many acts of crass stupidity we'll end up bemoaning. It's almost reached the point where match appraisals could be written beforehand, e.g. blah, blah, dominated possession, blah, blah, plenty of chances, blah, blah, defensive blunder, blah, blah, another defeat. If you set up a macro you'd only need to press one key!

If you set up a macro you'd only need to press one key! Actually, we have not made any real blunders for a few weeks now. Our second half performance against Basingstoke was up there with the best we have produced this season. Again we didn't do a lot wrong at Hemel, we defended extremely well and were only undone by a penalty earned by a blatant dive, you can't really legislate for that. As someone who has to go through all the video of our matches I can tell you we have been hard done by, we are not even getting the nailed on decisions. As for Gomis's sending off, he simply didn't do anything wrong other than what many considered a challenge worthy of a caution. We are at least 9 pts down on decisions that have gone against us, that may or should have gone our way. Even when we hit the woodwork it comes out. Our luck will turn and someone will be on the end of a hiding.

Well your post isn't exactly oozing positivity either If we can pick up 3 points, preferably with a clean sheet, I'll be oozing again, Sallycat!
It's a bit of worry to me though that we're playing quite well, but consistently failing to win, due in the main to a lack of concentration at the back. I'd like to see us defend as a team: close the opposition down in their own half, the midfield to work their socks off to prevent more balls coming into our box, and if it does come into box they need to stay on their feet and not even breathe on an opponent.
One good win could well start us off on a nice little run. Come on boys, give us an early Christmas pressie.

So this is how it is, 23 league games to play and 69 points available, if we're still harbouring ambitions of a play-off finish then surely we need to start with a win against Whitehawk this Saturday. Hard to believe it's three months since our last home win - that's poor but that won't last too much longer in my opinion.
Good that Medlocks back in the squad after his Trophy ineligibility. Wonder if Dos is considering any more squad additions..

He needs to badly, starting with a player who can hold the ball up in attack & bring others into the game !

I agree, as good as Medlock and White are I do think we need another striker offering something slighter different, especially with a spate of games coming up.

Medlock & White are the same type of player and as good as they might be they need to feed off someone.Dundo can't do it and is best bursting forward from midfield.

3 months without a league home win is a very long time but it does sound a bit better when you remember we haven't played a home league game for a month.
Still. 2 nonths is a long time, too.

So that's why we signed Slabber last season & Jessy this season ! The game hasn't changed that much Stewart.Centre backs are normally 6ft plus.

I read this morning when I was still a bit bleary eyed, but by @3pm I had worked it out The best bit about the penalty incident is watching Diarra get back to his feet, next to Harry O, it looks like: ( 8 vs 8)!!!!
