Hoping for a win of course, doesn't matter how it happens, just win the game. The way we've been performing overall form has to turn around soon but even if we play terribly tomorrow and get the 3 points I won't be complaining.

One thing for sure is if you don't hit the target you don't score, and if we have had one problem its actually making the keeper work. Lots of shots but accuracy has been poor!

We might win tomorrow as I'm not going! Feel I've jinxed the team as the last 6 games I've gone to we've drawn one and lost five!!

The dip continues. Unable to score at home and lose to Whitehawk 0-2.

I could come on here and say more about the match, but to be honest I could be writing about any one of about 10 games this season where we were second best.
There are a couple of positives but it's getting harder and harder to find them.
The bottom line is that with the players we've got and the management we've got there is no way we should be 18th in the league, just 3 points above relegation, only getting 9 points out of a possible 27 at home. The thing is that I'm lost to why we are - it's certainly wrong to point the finger of blame at anyone involved. I just can't see why we are where we are but more importantly how we stop the rot.
I remember a few weeks back at Dos Meet the Manager, I disagreed that we're having a bad season. At that point we were 5 points off a play off spot with at least a game in hand on most sides above us. Since then I'm not sure we've won a league game, and we're now 12 points off a play off spot and a huge 21 points off the top spot. And there are sides above us who have played less games.
Getting results in the 4 games over the Xmas and New Year period may well lift my spirit. But in the last 6 league games we're the only side in the league who have not got a win.

The recent talk of a second-half-of-the-season promotion push seems decidedly fanciful after this limp display, our first ever defeat to Whitehawk, and the score a reversal of our success at the Enclosed Ground back in September. That's now one win in our last ten league matches.
There probably wasn't a lot Tom could have done about their first goal, a crisp strike from their right back who'd advanced to the edge of the area. But the second was another avoidable concession, a needless push in the area gifting them a spot kick which Sam Deering duly converted.
The odd defensive mistake wouldn't matter as much if we were scoring regularly at the other end. Jamie White and Billy Medlock played the 90 minutes up front together, with Jamie seeing a first half shot go just wide of the far post, and Billy having a decent effort in the second blocked in the box, but otherwise they did little to trouble Craig Ross in the visitors' goal. Billy has yet to find the net in six games against Conference South opposition, while Jamie has managed one goal in five appearances. With Dundo not quite the attacking force he's been in recent seasons, we're seriously lacking firepower.
Today's results leave just three teams below us in the table. Weston's surprise win at Ebbsfleet means they're only three points behind us in the higher relegation spot. Our match at the Woodspring Stadium on 4 January is now starting to look rather important.

Second to the ball most times in the first half, unable to hold the ball up in attack and lumping high balls up to probably the smallest attack force in the division. We were luck to go in only 1 nil down.
Wellard is not a winger. Shaq needs more time on the bench. Our full backs didn't go forward enough until they were changed. Medlock is unproven at this level and almost certainly needs a season to adjust and definetly needs someone to play off. Dos hasn't got it right this season so far and the great shame is we had the team at the end of last season capable of winning this league.

First before we dissect our performance, we should congratulate Whitehawk on a vibrant first half in which they gave us a chasing. Torres & their little no 11 were excellent (even if he was an odious so and so). The goal was a great strike from distance. Other than Havant, I have not seen a side as good as that this season.
The early penalty in the second half ended any hopes we may have had and while we certainly had a go it really was a comfortable afternoon for the visitors. So why then did they need to make a drama out of every challenge made while our guys just got up and got on with it? The little 11 spent so much time waving his arms around every time anyone went near him. A foul is a foul and a tackle is a tackle. Just get up and get on with it. Was it a penalty? Probably, but with the way decisions have gone for us this season and how easily they went to ground nothing would surprise me if it wasn't.
After some decent recent performances, this was a real step backwards. We missed Spills to put a foot on the ball and find a pass. But again should not take the credit away from Whitehawk who made it very difficult and we just couldn't up the gas until it was too late. Only Ricky Wellard tested their keeper in our best spell of the match early-mid second half.
The one positive of the afternoon was the gorgeous sky behind the GGL goal in the second half. After today's results we are now most certainly looking over our shoulders and need to get some positive results soon.

A very depressing afternoon and quite frankly one of the worst performance under Dos, not just this season but since 2008. As said above you can't lump balls up to your forwards when you have 2 little guys and they have strong 6ft plus defenders. We didn't press the midfield, they wanted all the 50/50's more than us, and the 1st goal may have given Tom no chance but not a single U's player was busting a gut to shut the shot down.
We have lost all ability in being able to beat defenders down the flanks, and that's our trademark game with the likes of Binnsy, and Marv not out there we got no service to our boys at the front and simply resorted to lumping it. Not our game at all, we are not setup for an ariel battle, we didn't get behind them once and you don't say that about a Dos side that often. We were simply blown away, by a decent if not earth shattering Whitehawk side.
I am not sure on that penalty either although I don't think it changed the outcome, from my position I didn't see any contact on their player?

Good solid team Whitehawk but nothing exceptional and the way things are going they could be playing national football next season if their lashed up stands pass the test and they actually take the trouble to bolt the seats down. As for us well all the blasé talk about how we always start badly but then go on a run and finish strong has been rumbled as wishful thinking. There is no question we have regressed as a team and the real danger in this kind of situation is that it gets harder and harder to break out once the rot sets in. We've moved beyond the point where we are oddsing the odd decision that has cost us a win to a performance today that I thought was shockingly poor for all of the reasons others have set out. We've often looked like a team of dislocated individuals this season, today we looked like that for almost the entire game. With the revolving door option closed off now to all intents and purposes this squad who've got us into this postion need to pull their fingers out and dig in and show some balls and self respect and drag us out of it. There can be no excuses. Christ only knows what Dos is feeling tonight. If it was me I would be feeling bitterly let down by people I've put my trust in to do a professional job and there is only so much you can do once those players cross the line. From other posts Dos will know he retains the loyalty and respect of the fans. Some decent performances and it's possible we could consolidate this season with mid table finish but even that objective will require a massive improvement on what was served up today. That's the reality of where we are at.

Other than what has already been posted, not alot more can really be said. Was there a single shot from a Sutton player in the first half? For the home team this is just bonkers! This was subsequently made worse by a string of passes in the first half by Whitehawk which had their fans cheering their every touch of the ball whilst we just sat back and watched. It was so sadly painful to watch our team chasing the ball. Second half, there was an improvement and at least we started to at least shoot at their goal but again performance wise we just have no confidence and ultimately lost our way. We are now heading into a crucial run of games whereby if we can just get a win, then this will hopefully give us some belief and we can start playing for each other as at the moment, this team are playing as a group of individuals. I totally agree with what has been said by other supporters in that last season we had a team good enough for a top two finish, however a poor summer transfer strategy has unbalanced a good team. I dont think we are relegation material just yet, however I really think that budget permitting we try and get a couple of new faces in January to lift us. A targetman striker and a creative midfielder would not go a miss. White is a good player but is currently having to live off scraps as there is no creative spark from midfield or a strike partner to win headers and play off. The players we have all have the ability on paper but there is something still not right going on. If you compare this team against the one which one the Ryman Premier a few seasons back then there is a huge difference all round.

That was dreadful! Nothing to add to the above really other than to applaud Harry O's quality crosses late on. Had we done that all afternoon we might have got something out of the game.

Apart from a few players, like Clough, Southam and a couple of the forwards there was very little quality or spirit from the team or the management. Looks like relegation unless someone does something
