Based on this season thus far, I would suggest we are at least two seasons away before mounting a serious challenge.

Based on this season thus far, I would suggest we are at least two seasons away before mounting a serious challenge. At our level, you can never really tell what's going to happen from one season to the next. Who'd have thought in the summer we'd be in this pickle? Dos seems to favour close-season clear-outs (and I suspect we'll be getting the mother of all clear-outs at the end of this campaign) so if we're still in the Conference South we can just dust ourselves down and try again.

Are these close season clear outs the reason why we tend to start the season slowly?

Would we really want a mamouth clearout come the end of the season and start afresh? This could present similar problems to what we have now with getting new players to gel and work together and if this doesnt work like this season then what. It will also suggest that the management got it badly wrong with the signings which would not install confidence from the supporters. The players we have currently got, have the ability but whatever is going on at training and the high spec training facilites we hear about is simply not working. The management are there to work with the players and get the best out of each individual. We miss McKimm, Shaw and Telfer more than we imagine. No disrespect to the current coaches Dos has brought in but I think the main problem is that with whole new backroom staff and new players, the core has been wiped out of a team that could of won the league last season.
