Most of us went to this game more in hope than expectation, but football has this capacity to surprise! As has been suggested, we may have played Ebbsfleet at the right time with their recent signings not yet fully integrated into the team. They did look more like a collection of disparate parts than a fully effective unit. We had our own new faces, of course, but not as many. Aaron Howe and Dan Fitchett both had solid debuts, while the returning Damian Scannell was involved in the build-up to our two early goals. We lost a bit of momentum in the second half, but Ebbsfleet only got back into the game thanks to what their own camp concede was a soft penalty award. The final ten minutes were nervy, but on this occasion we managed to avoid conceding late on.
The win takes us up to 15th. Overall, a great response to the SSC exit.

Top top top top! We made the most expensive squad in the league look ordinary. Shows what we can do given the chance. Agree with all the above but want to add how well i thought Wellard and Spillaine worked together on the right.
Don't know about you lot but I feel we can take on the world after that. Well done all...today was a pleasure!

Really enjoyed today! The best 90 minute team performance I have enjoyed all season. Long may it continue!
Everyone played really well. The most noticeable thing for me was that Dos had clearly told them to be first to every second ball. This was the main difference between the sides today, best summed up by Southam, who quite simply looked like a man possessed whenever the ball went loose.
Well done everyone and well done Dos on a remarkable bit of coaching!!

It was a great performance all round. Hard to single out any player for MOM as unusually for any team all 11 players on the pitch played excellently. Well done guys. Ebbsfleet are an excellent team and were extremely dangerous going forward but our defence coped well. Scannell was immense as was Gomis and Southam. Fitchett looks an excellent addition and Wellard just gets better and better.
The speed at which we attacked Ebbsfleet was the key and perhaps we took them by surprise. We certainly went up a gear or two and we kept it up which is extremely hard to do over 90 mins.
Hopefully some of the idiots will button it for a while.
Well done Dos and his team.
There were some first timers there yesterday and I would thing they enjoyed it. A great advert for CS footy.
Also well done to the Ebbsfleet support. Great to see so many away fans.

Yes they brought a few last year too. Them and Wealdstone the only clubs to bring numbers this year. Next season may be different as shaping up to be a couple of bigger clubs. Likely to include Maidstone and Dartford. One side who won't be back next year is Dover who incredibly are on the verge of the play offs at this moment. Wonder if their fans are still calling for Kinnear to go??!!

Ebbsfleet Fan in peace!
Fair play to you for stuffing us yesterday. You fully deserved your win. Mind you if ever there as a good time to play us that was it, but that is taking nothing away from the way your side played!
Always enjoy your bar and had a fish-finger bap from your tea hut which is a first for me at any ground, and it wasn't half bad either! Its been a seriously weird few weeks for us at Ebbsfleet as we are not a bunch of supporters used to following a club that "flashes the cash," as the older ones among you will know only too well. I personally, am finding it all rather odd! Your win has brought a couple of the more arrogant fans down to Earth with a bump so I think you may have done us a favour in the long term.
Good luck for the rest of the season and make sure you take points off the other sides at the top please!

Thanks! My mates and I all agreed that you lot were a great bunch of fans. Normally with that many you get a few idiots but...well, we didn't see any. Good luck for the rest of the season (since we won't be playing you again!)

Good luck for the rest of the season (since we won't be playing you again!) Well we might if we get to the playoffs! D'oh! I was just about to start a post saying I'm glad nobody has gone overboard and started mentioning the play-offs......
An indication of how tough a task that would be is to work on the assumption that the current top 5 continue accumulating points at the same rate as they have been. That would mean we would need at least 40 points from the final 17 games, which equates to either W 13, D 1, L 3 or W 12, D 4, L 1. If we manage that then I vote Dos be made Mayor of Sutton!

Wonder if their fans are still calling for Kinnear to go??!! Always enjoy my visits to your place, you deserved your win. We are as you know, basically a new side and the first 20 mins we looked like that. We have enough class in our side, and will only improve, and yes we were very fortunate to get that penalty, I was behind the goal and thought it a bad decision. However the build up to one of your goals had an element of hand ball, so I am told, I didn't see it myself, so cant say if it was or not. Sometimes these things even out, sometimes they don't. It is always nice coming to your ground, where I can talk with any of your supporters, and have a reasonable chat into the bargain. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season, you never know, get on a good run and you can make it. We are not there ourselves yet, and can take nothing for granted, all sides will want to beat us.!!!!!!! UP THE FLEET. PS I dont think Dover fans know what they want.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definite handball. Very clear on the video. The quality of the rest of the move and the finish were excellent though.

That cancels out the blatant smack in the face Julian got before Wealdstone got their equaliser on Boxing day then!
