So. We now need 5 points from 6 games. Probably the only positive from today. Outplayed by a side with more to play for.

After the performances this past fortnight we decided to go and watch Dulwich Hamlet draw 3-3 with East Thurrock United today in what was a really good game of football. Doubt if we will be back at Sutton again this season. We couldn't believe it when we went one nil down so early on when the phone buzzed. As another post mentioned we have on paper a squad full of experience and some good players so what an earth is wrong at the club this season. We cant score whoever we seem to of brought in. An end of season clear out surely is not the answer so what is needed to turn this around. I will be interested to see what Dos has to say in his interview afterwards. He must be obviously very disappointed it cant of been easy going in front of the camera this season after some of the matches.

I think a end of season clear out IS the answer... Dos isn't stupid... He knows the players he will want to keep for next season to challenge for league ... Tougher with welling, dartford & Maidstone likely in the devision .. .. I can see 8 changes

One side effect of this run in is that players which Dos considered previously as good enough for the Conference Prem are showing a side of them which isn't endearing. This isn't about one player though (although you'd be fooled if you heard some of the stuff on the terraces today - with the finger pointing at Ricky Wellard again from almost the start) - there really wasn't any player out there today who covered themselves in glory. I would say though after the recent games and performances, I think Dos's "4" that he thought we had to bring in has probably increased by a couple.

Some good points there from Andy and it was disappointing to find ourselves to go and pay to watch another club today. But enough has been enough this season. It is very sad to of not gone to GGL today and look for updates on twitter whilst standing elsewhere. But why cant the message get through to the team to treat the last few games like a cup final to at least restore some pride.

Well I have seen the goal again, and Dos has done a very honest interview, and that isn't really much to add to what has been said. Unfortunately I am not one of those who can just go watch a different team to get better football, I just have to suffer, in 'sickness and in health for richer for poorer, I do'. I am stuck with the old bag now

Became more obvious as the match went on that only one side had anything to play for (excluding, maybe, some pride). Neither side hit any heights and Boro seemed happy to maintain their 1-0 lead and only late in the game looked like adding to that, Jamie Collins intervention preventing them from doubling their lead.
Their first minute winner was handed to them on a plate, although it was an excellent finish. For the rest of the match the division's top scoring forward line misfired and the match became an aerial battle with neither side really mastering the conditions.
For U's there was little to get excited about and I can't recall their 'keeper being seriously tested once all afternoon.
One aspect of the visitors' approach I did find a bit unnecessary was the crowding of the ref on certain occasions and they did over react to fouls at times too. Bloke goes down in apparent agony and as Dundo is getting booked gets up and strolls off. I recall their bench from the first game giving the ref a particularly hard time and it would appear its filtered onto the pitch too.
Six games left and maybe some of our fans need to take a break. 'Cos if they're getting pissed off watching our season peter out in a succession of one-goal margin defeats, I'm getting pissed off with having to listen to them moan about it. And, I know, I'm not alone in that.

Well what can I say . I came along with my Dad and my brother in law. We stood we saw. We watched when people left we still hung on just in case we could nick a point but to no avail. I gave up losing my temper after the Hayes game. So bad we really are players just let Manager down and Bruce again. I be there after i come back from Honeymoon if nothing else for the banter.

Totally agree Mark. One fan told another fan to stop moaning and shouted f off back! Nice! Totally out of order imo.
Not a great game in tricky conditions with very little to play for. But for me there was still plenty of effort and commitment so no complaints from me.
So when you get a fan continually repeating themselves saying that only one of the players has a job other than football it rather annoys me. The guys are trying but we're not clicking and getting the results. If they weren't trying then we would have a problem.
Next season will be different, I'm certain of that.
