With a very disappointing season drawing very slowly to the end, Sutton still ring the changes loan signing Louie Theophanous from Farnborough probably making his debut......with GOALS I hope in mind, and White going in the opposite direction. Its still a mystery while players with proven goal scoring abilities come to GGL and then fail to deliver? Answers on a post card!!

At times I've wondered if it's been because we don't have people on the coaching staff who know how to score goals! But of course that's not always been the case.

Hoping to make the Gandermonium trip for this and joining them in their usual shenanigans. Could get messy!!! Cone on the U's.
Might have to work on a song for the new loan signing. Louie Louie by the Kingsmen sounds easy enough even for me who cant sing!!

In Eastbourne's last game, they had 5 ex-Us in the side (Sessegnon, Evans, Pacquette, Hayesman and McCallum) - a win at home to Stortford.
With Hayes and Yeading not playing, anything less than a win for Staines at St Albans will see them be the 2nd side to be relegated in Steps 1-4 (Burnham Ramblers of the Ryman 1 North were the first to get relegated last Saturday with a 4-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Cray Wanderers)

An interesting line from their match report against Stortford:
"Nothing to play for, some say? Don’t believe it. Actually, footballers don’t know the meaning of meaningless. Watch Tommy’s lads in their high-octane training sessions, and they will exuberantly squabble over the last dodgy throw-in. So a Saturday showdown with Stortford meant points, places in the table – and just possibly a place in next season’s squad. That was more than enough to play for."
Something of an ethos that seems to be lacking in our squad at the moment?

Well, after Dos's comments on SUTV after the Gosport match I would think many of the players will be fearing that they might be part of a summer cull, so it's in their own interests to produce some better performances.

I think it will be just the opposite, with a number of players expecting to be part of the cull. They will effectively be working out their notice. Can't say I blame them too much if they are not 100% committed.

1-0 down. 11 minutes of pressure from us, 1 attack from them!

Apparently the club are going to be changing their name in the summer from Sutton United to Sutton Nil.

Probably more suited for an end of season post instead of today but there is a massive rebuilding job ahead in the summer. We are absolutley miles away from where we were this time last season. We have not got the players or the quality to turn games to our advantage when we go behind. So where has it all gone wrong? There seems to be a lack of confidence and belief within the squad. This cannot of been helped by the changing around which may of unsettled players, no stability or players getting to learn how each other plays as their moved on out the club before you know it. We have a bunch of individuals on that park every Saturday afternoon and not a team. I am not sure that 'its the players' really carries much weight anymore as this has continued since January and nothing has changed. Will be interested to listen to what Dos says later.

We were better than Eastbourne but didn't have the creativity to break them down. One thing was glaringly obvious today, was that we need another keeper for next season to challenge for the first team spot.
