So final game of a disappointing 2014/2015 season for us tomorrow and also a final ever game on the hallowed grass at Gander Green Lane before the new 3G pitch gets installed over the summer.
Hopefully we can end the season with a win which would give us a decent record of four wins in our last five games. It's a final opportunity also for some of the playing squad to really convince Dos that they deserve to be given another chance for next season.
Who do you lot think will be awarded the Player of the Season trophies prior to kick-off?

As a member of the supporters club committee, I know who won. All will be announced just before 3pm tomorrow. Did you vote?

Talking about the hallowed grass. Will the club be selling pieces of the pitch to raise some money ? Every little bit helps !

Another dismal home performance against an almost equally ordinary Maidenhead side. Not a good advert for football at this level. Nice to see Downer out there, what a player he is and was. Class. I'd say a major overhaul required. Would like to see more of Shaq, not sure I'd keep many others from this set. Hoping we can bring a little more excitement, pace and creativity next year if nothing else.

Well that's that out of the way. Perhaps Maidenhead had a little more to play for with it being Drax's last game but after starting well, scoring early and going close when skip's shot struck the post with some venom, we lost our way allowed Maidenhead to control much of the first half and get an equaliser.
The second really was the last meaningless 45 mins of the season, typified by the manner of their winning goal and a generally lackluster performance with only Dundo really reaching anything near the competitive level required.
The defeat means that we failed to win against any of the four clubs that finished immediately below us and perhaps that one stat says it all about the 2014/15 campaign.
Onwards and upwards to 2015/16 and 3G.

And so we end the season as we started it, with an underwhelming 2-1 defeat to Maidenhead. For the record, they become the fifth side to complete a league double over us in 2014/15 (the others being Bromley, Boreham Wood, Gosport and Weston).
As so often at home this season, we started brightly and took the lead, only for the game then to drift away from us. Wayne had made one good save before helping in their equaliser. Our defending wasn't great for their late winner.
At least the visiting fans, in their traditional end-of-season fancy dress, helped to create a bit of a party atmosphere.
If it's any consolation, even had we won today our finishing position of 15th would have been the same. The season is reminiscent of our first three at this level when we finished 13th-15th. But now it's really all about next season.

So there we have it then the curtain comes down on our 2014/15 season where we finish 15th. Poor game overall yesterday, as the cliche goes - typical end of season. Good strike from Binnsy though to give us the lead and then Southam was so unlucky hitting the post with his shot before he got injured. As for Maidenhead - the conga aside (which was amusing) quite a strange bunch really - some the oddest chants I've ever heard at a football match. Embarrassed to say they've done the double over us this season.
Interesting to note that we haven't scored more than two goals in a league game since September against Staines.
Elsewhere, Welling miraculously survived in the Conf Prem so we only get Dartford as the other three teams relegated will all go to the Conf North for next season. Corby won the "winner takes all game" in the Southern Prem winning in the last few minutes down at Poole - they also go to the Conf North. Play-offs are Poole vs St Neots and Truro vs Hungerford We already knew Maidstone were Ryman Champs but the play offs could be interesting Hendon vs Enfield Town and Margate vs Dulwich (Are these games still one-legged??)

I imagine Lowestoft will go south next year, maybe one more as well - Gloucester?

Hi Localboy, YES the Ryman League Play-Offs are one legged affairs, although having read the Ryman League Website it seems that Enfield Town have been 'charged' with fielding an ineligible player , which, if upheld would mean the deduction of 3 points they have gained during the regular season !
At the moment, the "hearing" isn't due to be held until Thursday 30th April unless Enfield agree to an earlier date ( they have already sent a message back to the Ryman League and await a reply ), so at the moment the play-offs are "on hold" !!
