Sorry, I won't make it for 9.00. I'll find you at about 10.00. I should be able to manage 2-3 hours.

Eight-strong in Sutton High Street promoting the club today!
Our grateful thanks to Tony Dunmore, John James, Nigel Guest, Malcolm Hawker, Bobby Childs, Mark Bravery, Sarah Aitchison ..and baby Caroline (!) for giving up their time today to run the second of our three stalls in Sutton High Street. Once more the team reported terrific interest in the club, handing out lots of leaflets, selling more seaon tickets and generally spreading the word about the exciting developments down the Lane. A wonderful job very well done - thanks to all involved once more ( hope I haven't missed anyone out?!)
Our next date in the High Street is Sat 1 Aug in the morning. Feel free to come along and support the team - it's a lot of fun!

A few observations from me on this morning's outreach. 1. The High St is obviously a great place to set up a stall. During the day there are people passing all the time, and our colours are eye-catching! 2. However, the vast majority of passers-by showed little or no interest. That's not surprising, and we shouldn't be disheartened by it. But engaging potential new fans is hard work! Those who did stop to talk were often people who already had some connection with Sutton Utd, and there were quite a few of them - I spoke to one gent who used to live next door to Micky Joyce but, alas, did not follow football, and a lady who knew Tony Holland. 3. More encouraging was that a high percentage of people showing an interest were children and mums on behalf of their kids. The £10 ST offer for under-13s could hook a decent number of future fans. 4. One suggestion: I don't know how technologically feasible this is, but it would be great to show some footage of Sutton goals at the stall, perhaps using a laptop? That would attract attention and maybe convince some sceptical Chelsea fans - and we spoke to several of those! - that there is skill and excitement in non-League football.

The footage is not a problem we have some good stuff. I think if possible get the stall inside the centre and find / borrow a good size TV and show it there. I don't think a laptop will do much in a high street environment but a good size TV inside just might?

That's a fair point - it might not show up very well out of doors but would be more eye-catching inside.

That footage of Dundo scoring his 2013/2014(?) goals would work a treat!
