Hi All,
I hope you don't mind me posting on here regarding our matches (seeing as we are your tenant).
Tonight see's the return of your former reserve manager James Bracken as he brings over his Corinthian Casuals 1st team to play us in a pre season friendly.
Kick off is at 8pm.
As previously mentioned if you are a Sutton United Season ticket holder you only pay £1 to get in. (Displaying your season ticket at the entrance).
If your not a Sutton season ticket holder we are still offering our reduced season ticket for £20 which gets you in tonight and all 21 home league games this season.
Our current entry prices are....
£20 Adult Season Ticket £10 Under 16's Season Ticket
Or at the entrance.... £7 adults £3.50 Concessions £1 under 16's So if you have no plans tonight and fancy coming along to support the small local Sutton team in the borough it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks again,
Justin Salmon Sutton Common Rovers FC

I wonder why a pre-season friendly wasn't organised between SCR and a Sutton Utd XI. It would have been a nice gesture I'd have thought - as a welcome to our tenants.

A friendly against Sutton United was discussed when we 1st discussed groundsharing at your ground but I'm not really sure why a match was never set up.
Maybe it was due to a friendly fixture pileup or getting the 3G pitch ready.
Maybe next season when you get round to the Sutton Guardian Cup again, it could be set up in a way that includes us and Worcester Park (a tournament over a weekend ect).
That way it would be a true Sutton Cup reflecting all local Sutton Borough teams down to Step 6 of the football pyramid.
It's only a idea and I understand if no-one wants to change the current 2 team format.

Thank you.
Our official twitter account is @official_scrfc and all the match scores and links to our reports will be on there.
We have had a shocking start tonight so I'm glad it's just a friendly and of course we are playing a team from a higher level so we always knew it would be tough but hopefully we will have a steady season and any extra support is very much appreciated.

Lol thanks Delboy another positive comment :-) As you know we are a very small club and don't profess to be anything but small but we are all local people offering local players a chance at a good standard of football (a stepping stone for bigger and better things) so hopefully we will get the odd bit of support now and then from other local people like yourself :-)

We have definitely learnt a lesson tonight in switching on quickly from kick off. It's all a learning curve and hopefully we will fair better against our own standard while we try and build up a squad to challenge for promotion to the Rymans South.
Personally a top half finish would be a great first season back in the Sutton Borough and give us something to build on moving forward.
Thank you again for your interest in us it is appreciated.

To be honest Justin its a hard enough job getting people in to watch pre season friendlies against the likes of Welling who play in a higher division.I feel you may be a little disappointed by the crowd size if Sutton were to play you but like all non league teams you have to try all you can to boost your attendances even if it means piggybacking our forum !

To be fair we don't expect big crowds at our level but if we can get one more person to come and watch us while there team are playing too far away to travel too then I'd be happy with that. It all helps :-)

Hope to be at your opener on the 7th. You'd best be on your best behaviour if I am!

You'd best be on your best behaviour if I am! thats great thank you, as for me I'm always on my best behaviour :-) Lost 5-2 tonight against a very good side (didn't help being 3-0 down inside the 1st 10 mins). But we learn from every game and all the mistakes made. Fair play to James he has put together a very good side and we wish him well and hope he has a very successful season.
