On Saturday we hit the post 3 times, tonight we scored twice against a side who have now conceded 5 in 2 matches and scored none. At home in our PSF's we played Crystal Palace XI , bristol rovers, welling and bromley - away we played jersey on a 3G pitch and the bobbins scoring 4 and conceding 1. What a load of tosh I see you noticed my politician's-style twisted use of statistics there!! Well, someone's got to try and be provocative in dear old Billy's absence!
Don't worry we still have Dellboy to stir the pot ;-)

Havant have seemed to be tipped to do well every season for about 10 years now and never amount to anything. They must be the biggest underachievers in Conference South history. Very harsh comment to call H & W the biggest underachievers in Conference South history. Considering that only 25 years ago Havant Town (as they were then) were languishing in the Wessex League, I think they've done extraordinarily well. Merging with Waterlooville helped provide steady progress through the leagues. Their location has enabled them to benefit from several ex-pro's from teams like Portsmouth and Southampton and they've had many solid seasons at this level. I believe they've also qualified for the play-offs a couple of times for promotion to the Conference National. Then throw in a number of decent F.A. Cup runs (I was at West Leigh Park when they hammered Swansea 4-2 in 2008). So, all in all, I'd reckon that's not too shabby.

First of all so glad for AA that all the players read his post and answered his call accordingly.
Once again we were in total control for most of the first half and this time scored and what a lovely goal too. Great movement to get Spence away and his superb deep cross was met with a fine header by Fitch.
H&W always play better up the hill and looked more dangerous but except for one goal mouth scramble that was it. We were always looking purposeful down the slope (far more than the home team had) and the second was another good header. Two fine deliveries and two goals.
More concern for the home club must be the low attendance. It looked considerably lower than previous visits and their pitch requiring some, albeit, minor pre-match forking in August does not bode well either.
As for the ref, I'd argue that Coops was a tad unlucky with his yellow but H&W went through the back three times in the second half and not a yellow in site. Decision wise this fella was pretty good but as is and will continue to be my bone of contention is the poor level of consistency when dishing out the cards at this level.

Just coming back to my point about Havant & Waterlooville, I must say I'm quite glad they have finally managed to get themselves out of this league.
It is a pity for them that it was from the wrong end of the table though...
