Our first win on the 3G pitch - hurrah! And our biggest home win since we beat Basingstoke 4-0 in March last year (pause to think - that was the season before last). As others have said, the quality of the finishing was top notch today - something we missed last season! A couple of the goals suggested that the free kick practice on the training ground is paying off at last, Collins heading in our first and Spillane netting our third direct. In between there was another peach of a goal from Fitch, then there was a brace from Dundo (that's three in two games - as many as he managed in the whole of 14/15). Wealdstone were perhaps unlucky to play us on a day when we were finding the net with such aplomb. They posed a serious goal threat themselves, with the much-travelled Jefferson Louis a continual danger, and Ross Worner having to make some smart saves. It was the presence of Louis at the far post that panicked Dan Spence to clear a cross into his own net, and Louis was involved in the build-up to the Stones' second. But in the end this was Sutton's day.

That training ground work isn't being so successful on short corners. Haven't seen one work this year and most seem to end in a counter. If we are going short it should end in a long range effort or a cross, if not bin them!! Nice to be picky after a fine win and decent performance!

Totally agree on the short corners I beg them each time not to do it, as more often than not we found ourselves defending 15 secs later. I agree with Dos's comments, we went to sleep a little after the break, and gave ourselves so unnecessary bum squeaks. Our goals were all quality including the OG, although I am told it may have been offside? Wealdstone are poor at the back, Whitehawk will be a completely different proposition, and a real test awaits!

We were treated to some superb goals. Let us hope it continues in the coming weeks. One concern is a player (I won't name him) who constantly gives the ball away with very poor passing when not under pressure. Even his free kicks have been poorly executed at times. I'm sure Dos must be frustrated as he has some fine moments and can be a match winner.

Wealdstone's fans were perhaps a tad harsh on their team when one considers our first half finishing. Even the og was a cracker if a little unfortunate for Dan Spence.
However, they did look weak at the back but posed problems for U's defence.
A fine way to record a first win on the 3G. Onto Whitehawk which will prove a tough test for sure.
