....disappointing result, cannot comment on the match, but another sending off, are we on the wrong of the refs?

Correct decision on sending off as Cooper hauled the attacker down as last man.

I heard SUFCtv's excellent commentary with Tony Dolbear, the problem was it felt like I was there I know Dos like to win every match but sometimes I wonder if we can't set out to do a job on our opponents especially the good sides away from home? Whitehawk were always going to be tough, were we a bit gun hoe at the start? 2-0 and man down against a good side is game over, and you are then really looking at damage limitation which from what I heard we did OK, but never really sounded like we were going to get back into it? We need Kevin and Simon back in there I think, we are giving @2 goals to everyone we play and that needs to stop as we can't win 5-2 every week.

Our defence was woeful, it was our poorest performance of the season. The second half was a little better that was more to do with Whitehawk playing out the game.Tommy and Tom came on to give us hope and they both did well. We should lean from this setback, if we don't we won't make the playoffs.

I didn't get that impression from Tony's commentary but i agree that defensively we are too loose.

Dreadful first 20. Made them look like a team two divisions above. They broke quickly any left us for dead every time. Another stupid sending off - A straight red for being last man when the lino was already raising his flag for offside (IMO). Dos really needs to sort out our discipline record. We improved from dreadful to poor up to half time and I feared the worst for the second half with them kicking down hill, but no! I thought all the players put in a very good shift for the second 45 and the subs made all the difference. Perhaps with a little more luck we could have pulled it back to 2-2 although this would not have been deserved overall. Home support was small but vocal.

Only reason for any improvement was due to Hawks taking their foot off the pedal with a keeper who seemed to be more interested in time wasting - but the subs did add some flare which was previously missing.

After a decent start in which we created one very good chance, we imploded, conceding 2 goals in as many minutes and could have been four down before Coops got sent off. I suspect the lino was flagging for the foul (ooahh) because if not that would be another refereeing cock up of mega-proportions.
Second half, I think Whitehawk did what we did on Saturday and took the foot off the gas. Our best moment was from Tommy Wright who beat two men with some deft footwork but couldn't match that with his finish.
We really do need to start looking at our disciplinary record this season. Far too many bookings for some rash challenges and we have a number of players already getting far too close to suspension after just seven matches.
This was always going to be a tough match and the home 7,11 and 8 caused us massive problems in the middle of the park and the defence was left exposed too often in the first half. I thought we did ok second half but the damage had already been done.
One question for Whitehawk. If they were to go up how would they meet ground grading requirements for the top flight? Awful lot of work to do surely.

This game was lost in a twenty minute spell in the first half when we conceded two goals in quick succession then had Coops sent off for a professional foul. The second half was mostly a non-event, Whitehawk knowing they'd won the game and content to cruise to the final whistle, though each side had chances to score in the last five minutes.
There may be lessons to learn here about defensive discipline. In mitigation, we were missing three defenders through injury or suspension, all of whom may have started today had they been available.
So that's two wins, three draws and two defeats from our first seven matches (one sixth of the league season). That would be a decent return for a team whose main ambition is to stay clear of the relegation zone. If our aim is much higher than that then we need to do appreciably better in the next seven.

Yesterday reminded me of an August fixture a few seasons back at Bromley. For a lot of the game it was 2 pretty even sides but was decided by a 10 min spell where we were suicidal. We could and should do better than that but as AA stated we were without key players. but even so there were a lot of lessons we can learn from yesterday. McCallister struggled for pace against their back 4, Wishart getting caught out of position too many times etc.
What we could of prepared for better is facing a Steve King side. He has, and always will, drill his players to wind up the opposition, give little digs here and there and play the offside trap time and again. We fell for those a lot too.
Disappointed yet but still better than last season.
