Grea win today. Not sure we played so well as we have in some of our draws in tricky conditions, a stiff cold breeze swirling around but mainly into the Collingwood end. However, it was far too good for H&W who on paper have a good side but never looked the part today.
Craig's brilliant improvisation for his second probably killed the game for H&W coming on the stroke of half time. All three goals came from crosses Craig reacting quickly for the first, his goals reminded me of how Micky Joyce used to score, top centre-forward play. Dundo got the third and the MOM award and he did play well but so did alot of the team in a solid if not so spectacular performance.
The downside though losing Craig M to a foot injury and Fleets with what looked like a shoulder problem. Also, if my records are correct, Downs & Coops will be suspended for the league match at Concord. Thought Coops was hard done by as their skipper, no 3 got away with persistent infringement before getting himself red carded late in the game. Perhaps some sympathy as Downs caught him and sent him tumbling when chasing back but the retribution came sometime after and was premeditated. Allegedly, their skip spat at the ref too so he could be in for a lengthy ban if that is both reported and proven.
Ref did ok but either missed a few or was willing to let play go but no major rickets.
Onto improving Concord for a no doubt testing afternoon on cold Canvey.
Great 3 points and up to 5th.

I don't think we played any better today than we have a lot of matches we have drawn or even lost. The difference today was too see us first to those balls in the box, what were getting cleared by defenders seem to find a U's foot today. The work put in by the coaching staff seems to be hitting the spot, and they deserve some credit too. Dundo seems to be going backwards in age and was a constant menace all afternoon, worthy of his MOTM too. That said the only U's player not to shine was Ross in goal, the backline was outstanding restricting Havan't to maybe no attempts on target at all. Its quite possible Ross slept through the whole thing I thought the officials weren't bad, I really liked the lino stand side, more than happy to explain his decisions to anyone who asked - good chap, we need more like him. As for Havan't, they fell apart towards the end both in discipline and in footballing terms, one player getting his marching orders, and others leaving the field stating publicly that they were finished and didn't want it anymore. Onwards and upwards, this is a damn good side!! BTW, Fleet's took one in the ribs, as he has just tweeted.

After two months without a home win in the league we finally manage to secure three points at GGL. It has to be said though that H&W were the worst side we've played this season, and if I have a grumble about today's performance it's that we should have scored more. We wouldn't have been flattered by 5-0. I don't recall Ross Worner making a single save. Dundo, deservedly MotM, was back to his rampaging best, contributing to all three of our goals. It was his snap shot, tipped over by Ryan Young in the Hawks' goal, that led to the corner from which Craig McAllister gave us the lead. He then crossed into a crowded box for McAllister to put us 2-0 up just before h-t. And Dundo scored the third himself from another corner, stretching to divert the ball in at the far post. With Bath losing at Wealdstone (thanks for the correction, Delboy ) we're now up to 5th and only a point behond Whitehawk, who lost at home to our next opponents Concord Rangers.

I can see why Havant are low down the league. On paper good, on the pitch awful. Actually at times they reminded me of us last season - as a team they just don't click. But I also think we made them look poor. As said Dundo MoM without question, I think credit again for our back four were superb again. Otherwise as everyone said. A well deserved first league double of the season.

Good three points.Enjoyable game.Towards the middle of the second half i thought that Havant looked more of a threat but we were good enough to contain them at that point.Onward to Concord next where we seem to find it difficult to score. Isn't that where they park the proverbial caravan !

Goals and good interviews with both managers.

Not sure I agree with them including the replay of an incident that took place presumably just before the red card but i guess it's up to them what they choose to include.

"Had the referee in their pocket". Who does he think he is? If a PL manager made a statement like that he'd be in big trouble with the FA.

Presumably their camera didn't pick up the very nasty punch in the ribs sustained by Fleets, off the ball and prior to that incident, forcing his departure. Thankfully, I think we maintain a position of managing our output in an unbiased fashion and there if there is anything for discussion between clubs, leagues or even FA it is done in a professional manner.

Hi all,
Really enjoying this season thus far.
Saturday was one of those games where the longer it stayed 0-0 the tougher and more horrible a game it would become.
Thank the Lord we grabbed the goal at the right time and applied the pressure to get the 2nd.
Havant were a poor side on the day (maybe usual for them?) but we needed the win no matter how well we played it was just three points needed. I personally feel we've played better at home this season and either fell asleep and allowed the opposition to get back into games or just not been able to convert our chances.
The win was even better because of the players we were missing to.
I'm confident in this side personally and feel we really have a lovely balance and we can adapt to(possession-direct). It's just being more clinical and more nasty defensively and not giving teams goals. If they score make them earn it!. The past two Saturdays we have managed to do that.
I personally don't think Fleetwood enjoys nor is comfortable out wide on the left. Standing by the touchline in the first half and just watching his lack of a partnership with Dan and his movements he just doesn't seem comfortable to me. Problem is i thought he'd go up front with McAllister but Dundo has stepped in fantastically.
Normally you can pick out certain players who are letting the side down but in all honesty i'm really happy with the squad and all lads are trying their best for the side and it's slowly coming together.
Finally i thought it was great seeing the fans all together behind the goal on Saturday. The players imo feed of the crowd even at this level and with the songs and cheering it will only help the team excel.
