Time to look forward! A good performance and a win on Saturday will cheer us up Bath are near the bottom of the form table, however their last win was away to Ebbsfleet! After winning their opening six games City's form has been poor winning just two games.

Yep time to put the disappointment of Tuesday night behind us now and focus on this game against Bath.
Be interesting to read the team news later on the official site - maybe a couple of new faces as has been hinted by Dos.
I see Ebbsfleet have a tricky looking game at Oxford City whilst Maidstone host Gosport so ground could be made up if we win tomorrow.

Teams with good promotion credentials tend to bounce back straight after a loss. Tomorrow's game should tell us a lot. Is the belief still high or has confidence taken a knock?
Bath have been a bit of an enigma this season, but a string of indifferent results since their blistering start to the campaign suggests they'll be coming over more in hope than expectation. If we can manage to pick up three points then we should be able to kick on again with another unbeaten run.

New player for Bath City: City have signed attacking midfielder Liam Kelly on loan for a month from Championship side Reading. The 20-year old has come up through the youth ranks at the Madejski Stadium and has also represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-17 and Under-19 level. He will go into the squad to face Sutton United tomorrow.bathcityfc.forumotion.co.uk/t1121-new-midfielder

Finished 1-1. That means a rather curious record continues: neither Sutton nor Bath has ever lost on the other's ground at this level of football.
After Tuesday night's bruising Trophy exit on the Sussex coast, we could count ourselves lucky that today's league fixture was at home against a side at the foot of the form table. After Ross Stearn had headed a patched-up Sutton side into a very early lead, and with Bath only attacking sporadically, it looked as if the football gods might be smiling on us again. Then Worns conceded the penalty from which City equalised, and we couldn't find a second goal.
We did have two good spells of pressure in the second half, one around the hour mark and the other in the dying minutes, but the visiting defenders managed to block our goal-bound shots. We finished with youngsters Tommy Wright and Reyon Dillon up top, and we thought for a moment that Tommy had won the game for us when he lashed home, only for the officials to adjudge that Dundo had taken the ball out of play before providing the assist.
With most of the other matches played in our division today also ending as draws (including Oxford C v Ebbsfleet) we stay third, although we've slipped a bit further behind Maidstone who beat Gosport in the battle of 2nd v 4th. A win at Basingstoke on Tuesday would take us up to 2nd on goal difference.

Considering he injuries we have plus a couple of today's squad patched up and sent out to play, I thought we did ok.
A great start with Ross Stearn's goal from a deliciously delivered corner but U's couldn't build on it and Bath grew into the first half with McCootie a handful (legally and otherwise).
From nowhere their fella got clean through and Ross W came out to apprehend but only succeeded in bringing their fella down. Yellow card, penalty, 1-1.
And so it stayed. U's had the lions share of the match but credit to Bath for some great defensive work which probably meant they deserved the point. Shame about Tommy Wright's lovely finish being ruled. Couldn't be sure but I thought the ball may have just been out when Dundo connected it for the cross.
Ref didn't have a difficult game. McCootie was lucky not to have been booked earlier and how the hell he didn't show one for the tackle on Ross Stearn in the second half remains a mystery that only ref's at this level can explain. Also having let their fella walk up the line 10 yards from where the ball went out why, in the second half make a big show of the throws being taken in the right place in the second half?
Not a disaster with 'fleet drawing at Oxford and Gosport losing at Maidstone. We have a small cushion but need to get back to winning ways at improving Basingstoke.

Why, in that kind of situation, do goalkeepers always insist on hurling themselves at the feet of the striker? If he's not going directly towards the goal, why don't they just stay on their feet, make themselves as big as possible and try shepherding, like a defender?

Frustrating affair.
The first 10 minutes i thought it would be another St Albans display. We looked sharp and constantly got in behind their left full back and Dundo and Fitchett winning most headers.
After about 20 minutes in it seemed the pace dropped and atmosphere. Bath put some nice neat and tidy moves together and we started to play long into the front to much and they settled.
I agree AmberChoc i think at that stage of a game let them take the touch wide and see if you can stay with at the angle. Then again Ross has been outstanding and maybe being so confident fancied his chances getting there?. Wrong decision but split second stuff i suppose.
I thought it was a nothing ball running out of play. Went to turn away but saw the lad running full pelt and had a bad feeling he would get clipped.
I'm glad the referee didn't go for a red as i've seen reds given for less.
Second half the boys tried but seemed like we struggled to keep intensity up.
Honestly feel Dundo kept that ball in. Maybe i'm wrong but overall Bath were solid and managed the game well in the second half.
Good thing is we got a point and hopefully we can pick up six points next week.
McLean is firing for Ebbsfleet but they are still dropping points.

Today was OK no great disaster and kept the league unbeaten run going with somewhat of a patch up side. We showed in patches what quality we have but not enough to make it a match winning performance. Great goal from Ross shows that good delivery is the key to scoring even if you only 5ft nothing Actually Stern was my man of the match, I though he ran his socks off and was dangerous all afternoon. The ref did not convince me with his performance, not the worst but not very consistent. From my Angle looking almost down the line Dundo appeared to take the ball over before he crossed it back for young Tommy, the lino's flag was up like a shot. As for where we are, we should learn and I am sure Dos has that this is not a sprint but a marathon, and they go to who has most in the tank in the final 500 yards. We broke ourselves getting 2nd two season ago, maybe we should relax a little more and simply make sure we grab any playoff spot.

It was a rare and ultimately unnecessary error by Ross Worner that cost the 3 points. Bath toiled and were up to the physical demands that Sutton put them under.
The draw certainly wasn't fatal, especially considering the way other results went yesterday. If it's a good performance and a win against Basingstoke on Tuesday, I'm sure it'll all be forgotten.

That's very harsh on Ross, I was right by Rose's and had a clear view - he was sold extremely short by the three defenders that let the ball run through, all making way for each other, he had to commit and once committed it was all or nothing - plus a hefty boot to the jaw for his trouble! I don't think it was unnecessary or an error on his part. Ross has also produced some tremendous saves in recent weeks and shown his class is way above this level, shame to call him on the penalty yesterday in my view, which he very nearly saved.

As I saw it, he didn't need to rush out, hence why I'm calling the error. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I think Eastmond aside, he's been Sutton's best player this season.

Agree with Millsy. Poor defence forced the issue and until we learn NOT to hump the ball continually in the air which cuts out our skilful midfield players our seasons will always find us shooting ourselves in the foot
