Have to agree about some of the Wealdstone supporters. Sore losers or what. Some of their comments were meant to incite, but as far as I saw we were too busy enjoying our victory. Well done Dos and the team. Roll on Truro!

Another great performance by the lads at the back tonight, so often overlooked by our magical attacking force, just one goal conceded in 450mins, that is some going.
We were cranking the engine into gear tonight at times, but still had plenty to spare over a lack lustre Stones side who rarely threatened Ross's goal. Big shame about Ryan, quite what happened when he was on the ground and Stones player fell on him, I am not sure. Wishy and Stern excellent tonight with Dundo his usual menace, and Bolly always looks like he can burn defenders for fun.
In the end we could maybe should have won by more, but job done is all that matters. As for the ref, well I guess he could work part time making specsaver adverts. The things he got wrong were just plain embarrassing..
We move on to Truro, now that will be a toughie!!

Another great performance and another 3 points. Burge intimated that he had twisted his ankle and it surely was well swollen up as he hobbled off at half time. Hopefully no more than that.Thankfully we did sign extra players to bolster the squad as they are certainly in need now. Rather hostile supporters at Wealdstone and hopefully we won't have to go there again for some time. Next up, off to Truro !

I think given the 'good fortune' we had with two injuries on Saturday meaning only a couple of weeks out for both Fitchett and Downer, it's hardly surprising that a season ending one was just around the corner and it certainly takes the gloss off what otherwise was a very important result for us, feel for Burge as he's been looking great for us since joining but it would be a shame to lose anyone at this stage. The behaviour of Wealdstone supporters is hardly surprising, I witnessed my first ever incident of football violence, possibly could even call it hooliganism, when we played Wealdstone about 5 years ago or so. Still well done to the boys to keep our excellent recent defensive record going as well as get the goals needed to pick up the points, though it sounds like once again we missed a few chances that could have made things a little easier on ourselves. 16 points ahead of sixth with nine games to go, should only be a couple of weeks at most before we're guaranteed that chance we've been working for all season.

Oh dear, oh dear, they really are poor losers! Poor away support? That's not even worth a response. Sad gits!

Really shouldn't come as any surprise, it's endemic from the Chairman downwards at that club. Look back at his blog and their 'official' reporting from our 4-3 RPL win for a clue.
They're really not worth the airtime.

Disrespectful garbage. Would be embarrassed if that were my club. Makes you appreciate the quality of our reports!

In seasons when you win the ultimate prize, you have to win at places where it has been previously impossible or rare. I am not saying we will win that ultimate prize - i don't do predictions - but last night U's overcame the bogey that has been Grosvenor Vale to post an 11th away win of the season.
GV is an inhospitable place at times and last night proved no exception. The report published elsewhere in this thread makes comment about our whinging players and I suppose we should yield to WFC's superior expertise in this as they again proved last night.
No, the ref wasn't great but he let much go on both sides, missed one of the most blatant and laughable dives I've seen on a football pitch but at least got the penalty right. It was hard luck on Binnsy but the ball hit his hand when it was in an unnatural position and the ref had little choice.
Stones started well and I thought their no 10 was the stand out performer with some great deliveries. We survived an early shock of conceding thanks to a lino's flag and slowly began to take a foot hold on the match before Bedse confidently dispatched the penalty.
Second half down the slope U's were far more dominant and Slabs, Craig E and Dundo all went very close before Tom B brilliantly set up Louis for the all important second.
It wasn't pretty at times but for all their so called shortcomings (WFC's forum is worth a visit) Wealdstone always make us battle on their home patch and they did again last night.
Massive shame about Ryan Burge in what looked a nothing foul. Great performance again by the defence and the team were solid all over the park.
Once again their fans were not the most hospitable, although I met a couple of good ones in the tea queue and the bloke selling the progs was fine too but why wind them up as one of our number did before having to scoot off down the road as a number of the home support began to give him a little too much attention? We've been here before after all.
As for that report, makes me laugh about the haves and the have nots. Thirty years ago or so, 'Stones were the best nl club in the country with a good ground and some great players. I don't recall us bleating about that when they knocked U's out of the FA Cup and I'm sure that team and the ones of the same era cost a few bob.
I know they are a fans' club but maybe a bit to precious about it.
Anyway, great win and onto Truro. Safe journey everyone.

As not there last night can't comment on the game or the Wealdstone fans..............but, one thing that does make me laugh, is the constant comments from virtually every other Club's fans in this League deciding that we're a cash rich Club with a massive budget !
