I was going to say we should party like it's 1999, but now Prince has died as well as practically everyone else in showbiz this year It really is shocking how many have gone this year, I think I read somewhere that a famous person (what qualifies as that I can't say) has died every week this year. I haven't actually verified it but if that IS true it's outrageous.

There is a website somewhere, and it's quite remarkable how many quite famous people die without making the news.

I just googled "celebrity deaths 2016" and there were LOADS, but like you say I hadn't heard of half of them. But I did find an article that said twice as many celebrities had died in the first months of 2016 as the same period of 2015. However, they also theorised that it was because so many of them were born in the 50s because of the number of different entertainment media that have arisen since then. And that's nonsense, because people born in the fifties are not old, and anyway not all these people were.
Sorry for derailing the party thread...

Prince was superb live. If we party like 1999on Saturday then it means we got the result we need and we can raise a glass to him as well as our team. RIP Prince

A big thank you to everyone who helped make last night a great celebration of the club's achievements; from the players who've done the work on the pitch (first team, U18s, academy and community sides!) as well as those who helped me stage the event from Wendy and Andrew's catering, Steve's bar staff, DJ Nick the Greek, Dave's raffle, the trophy presenters, the guests, the supporters and MC Tony Dolbear. Plus everyone else I've forgotten. Thank you, I hope you enjoyed your evening and if you didn't get round to giving me money for party ticket, please give it to Chairman Bruce, Graham Baker or a suitable club official at Oxford if you're there. And any donations towards the cost of the night are welcome. If you missed out, or can't quite remember what happened because it's a little fuzzy - check out Paul's photos on his Flickr page.
