So we head to Aldershot on Saturday which is a tough looking fixture for us - they have the joint best home record in the league and seem to have found some form after we comfortably beat them in November.
I'd take a draw from this one right now. Who's going?

Third game of this season that I'll miss (I'll be visiting a brewery in Stoke-on-Trent). I'll be following events from afar and would be delighted with a point from what certainly looks a tough fixture.

11.59 platform 2 Sutton train station. Is there a preferred pub in Aldershot for pre match beers?

11.59 platform 2 Sutton train station. Is there a preferred pub in Aldershot for pre match beers? A local game for me, so I am really hoping for a result or I'll get some stick on Sunday. Aldershot is a dump. There are no decent pubs in Aldershot. The Queen Victoria and the Crimea are OK and safe for visiting fans despite proximity to the ground and station. On no account go into the Red Lion.

I am thinking of stopping off in Guildford for a pint or two as I know from previous experience that Aldershot is not the best for pubs. Not sure which pub in Guildford although there is one near the bridge not far from the station and there is also good old Wetherpoons. COME ON YOU YELLOWS !

Guildford's OK, but for a pre-match beer your best bet is Farnham, one stop on from Aldershot.

Guildford's OK, but for a pre-match beer your best bet is Farnham, one stop on from Aldershot. True. But the Waverley outside Farnham station is the least good of these five. Across the station approach is The Mulberry, a bit of a youngsters pub, but does some real ale. A bit further down hill across the A31 and then diagonally left are the Lamb (Shepherd Neame) and the William Cobbett (Free House). Best pub in Farnham is right in the town centre near the corner of Castle Street and the Borough, it is the Queens Head, (Fullers/Gales) about 5 mins walk from the station.

U's booked their place in the relegation scrap with this inept performance in front of both goals. Playing uphill in the first half Sutton were much the better side, played most of the football and dominated possession, but composure and accuracy when aiming at goal were lacking. Added to that there seem to be a ducking of responsibility for beating a man and taking a shot, if a square pass to a colleague was on. Eventually the centre halves starting joining in the attacks and the inevitable break away had U's defence scrambling back for cover. The exact mechanics of the opening goal were not clear from the other end. It seemed to me Nicky Bailey attempting to clear put through his own goal, the announcer gave it to Adam May, and website pages gave it to Will Puddy, so maybe it was not clear whose OG it was.
Sutton had two goals ruled out correctly for offside, and Coombes was particularly guilty of straying offside several times. We had two one on one chances to beat the keeper and score, one hit the GK and the other was screwed wide of the right post with the goal gaping. Towards the close Sutton again sent the big defenders forward to try to find the equaliser, but were caught out 3 against 1 on the break. Aldershot, unlike Sutton, could not miss.
Poor tactics. Our Defenders venturing forward are not contributing to goal attempts and obviously not to goals, but when they were out of position upfield, that led directly to easy chances for the opposition. Alarm bells should be ringing.

Trouble is, so far this season the chances created haven't been taken, so how it's all going to change before the end of April I cannot see.
Positives are that three teams seem to already be on there way out. We still have games in hand. We still have a better goal difference. We still are a few points up on fourth bottom. But we aren't making it easy, with one point from the last nine taken.
Hold on to your SUFC hats!

Sounds like the same old story in away games for the U's, dominate but no final product. Massive week ahead, need to get something at Maidstone now.

So it's a Macclesfield v York FA Trophy Final. Didn't see Tranmere or Lincoln losing, but they obviously have more important things on there mind. Today's match........I'd rather not comment!! 😡😡😡
